PENNOD 1
1:1 Yn y drydedd flwyddyn o deyrnasiad Jehoiacim brenin Jwda, y daeth
Nebuchodonosor brenin Babilon i Jerwsalem, ac a warchaeodd arni.
1:1 In the
third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of
1:2 A’r ARGLWYDD a roddes i’w law Jehoiacim brenin Jwda, a rhan o
lestri tŷ DDUW; yntau a’u dug hwynt i wlad Sinar, i dŷ ei dduw ef; ac
i drysordy ei dduw y dug efe y llestri.
1:2 And the
Lord gave Jehoiakim king of
1:3 A dywedodd y brenin wrth Aspenas ei ben-ystafellydd, am ddwyn o
feibion Israel, ac o’r had brenhinol, o’r tywysogion,
1:3 And the
king spake unto Ashpenaz the master of his eunuchs, that he should bring
certain of the children of Israel, and of the king’s seed, and of the princes;
1:4 Fechgyn y rhai ni byddai ynddynt ddim gwrthuni, eithr yn dda yr
olwg, a deallgar ym mhob doethineb, ac yn y gwybod gwybodaeth, ac yn deall
cyfarwyddyd, a’r rhai y byddai grym ynddynt i sefyll yn llys y brenin, i’w
dysgu ar lyfr ac yn iaith y Caldeaid.
1:4 Children in
whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning
in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to
stand in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the
tongue of the Chaldeans.
1:5 A’r brenin a ddognodd iddynt ran beunydd o fwyd y brenin, ac o’r
gwin a yfai efe; felly i’w maethu hwynt dair blynedd, fel y safent ar ôl hynny
gerbron y brenin.
1:5 And the
king appointed them a daily provision of the king’s meat, and of the wine which
he drank: so nourishing them three years, that at the end thereof they might
stand before the king.
1:6 Ac yr ydoedd yn eu plith hwynt feibion Jwda, Daniel, Hananeia,
Misael, ac Asareia:
1:6 Now among
these were of the children of Judah, Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah:
1:7 A’r pen-ystafellydd a osododd arnynt enwau: canys ar Daniel y
gosododd efe Beltesassar; ac ar Hananeia, Sadrach; ac ar Misael, Mesach; ac ar
Asareia, Abednego.
1:7 Unto whom
the prince of the eunuchs gave names: for he gave unto Daniel the name of
Belteshazzar; and to Hananiah, of Shadrach; and to Mishael, of Meshach; and to
Azariah, of Abednego.
1:8 Daniel a roddes ei fryd nad ymhalogai efe trwy ran o fwyd y
brenin, na thrwy y gwin a yfai efe: am hynny efe a ddymunodd ar y
pen-ystafellydd, na byddai raid iddo ymhalogi.
1:8 But Daniel
purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the
king’s meat, nor with the wine which he drank: therefore he requested of the
prince of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.
1:9 A DUW a roddes Daniel mewn ffafra thiriondeb gyda’r
pen-ystafellydd.
1:9 Now God had
brought Daniel into favour and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.
1:11 Yna y dywedodd Daniel wrth Melsar, yr hwn a osodasai y
pen-ystafellydd ar Daniel, Hananeia, Misael, ac Asareia,
1:11 Then said
Daniel to Melzar, whom the prince of the eunuchs had set over Daniel, Hananiah,
Mishael, and Azariah,
1:12 Prawf, atolwg, dy weision ddeg diwrnod, a rhoddant i ni ffa i’w
bwyta, a dwfr i’w yfed.
1:15 Ac ymhen y deng niwrnod y gwelid eu gwedd hwynt yn decach, ac yn
dewach o gnawd, na’r holl fechgyn oedd yn bwyta rhan o fwyd y brenin
1:15 And at the
end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all
the children which did eat the portion of the king’s meat.
1:20 And in all
matters of wisdom and understanding, that the king inquired of them, he found
them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers that were in all
his realm.

2:1 Ac yn yr ail flwyddyn o deyrnasiad Nebuchodonosor, y
breuddwydiodd Nebuchodonosor
freuddwydion, a thrallodwyd ei ysbryd ef, a’i gwsg a dorrodd oddi wrtho.
2:1 And in the
second year of the reign of Nebuchadnezzar Nebuchadnezzar dreamed dreams,
wherewith his spirit was troubled, and his sleep brake from him.
2:2 A’r brenin a archodd alw am y dewiniaid, ac am yr
astronomyddion, ac am yr hudolion, ac am y Caldeaid, i fynegi i’r brenin ei
freuddwydion: a hwy a ddaethant ac a safasant gerbron y brenin.
2:2 Then the
king commanded to call the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers,
and the Chaldeans, for to show the king his dreams. So they came and stood
before the king.
2:3 A’r brenin a ddywedodd wrthynt, Breuddwydiais freuddwyd, a
thrallodwyd fy ysbryd am wybod y breuddwyd.
2:3 And the
king said unto them, I have dreamed a dream, and my spirit was troubled to know
the dream.
2:4 Yna y Caldeaid a lefarasant wrth y brenin yn Syriaeg, O frenin,
bydd fyw yn dragywydd: adrodd dy freuddwyd i’th weision, a mynegwn y
dehongliad.
2:4 Then spake
the Chaldeans to the king in Syriack, O king, live for ever: tell thy servants
the dream, and we will show the interpretation.
2:5 Atebodd y brenin a dywedodd wrth y Caldeaid, Aeth y peth oddi
wrthyf: oni fynegwch y breuddwyd i mi, a’i ddehongliad, gwneir chwi yn
ddrylliau, a’ch tai a osodir yn domen.
2:5 The king
answered and said to the Chaldeans, The thing is gone from me: if ye will not
make known unto me the dream, with the interpretation thereof, ye shall be cut
in pieces, and your houses shall be made a dunghill.
2:6 Ond os y breuddwyd a’i ddehongliad a ddangoswch, cewch roddion, a
gwobrau, ac anrhydedd mawr o’m blaen i: am hynny dangoswch y breuddwyd, a’i
ddehongliad.
2:6 But if ye
show the dream, and the interpretation thereof, ye shall receive of me gifts
and rewards and great honour: therefore show me the dream, and the interpretation
thereof.
2:7 Atebasant eilwaith a dywedasant, Dyweded y brenin y breuddwyd i’w
weision, ac ni a ddangoswn ei ddehongliad ef.
2:7 They
answered again and said, Let the king tell his servants the dream, and we will
show the interpretation of it.
2:8 Atebodd y brenin a dywedodd, Mi a wn yn hysbys mai oedi yr amser
yr ydych chwi; canys gwelwch fyned y peth oddi wrthyf.
2:8 The king
answered and said, I know of certainty that ye would gain the time, because ye
see the thing is gone from me.
2:9 Ond oni wnewch i mi wybod y breuddwyd, un gyfraith fydd i chwi:
canys gair celwyddog a llygredig a ddarparasoch ei ddywedyd o’m blaen, nes
newid yr amser: am hynny dywedwch i mi y breuddwyd, a mi a gaf wybod y medrwch
ddangos i mi ei ddehongliad ef.
2:9 But if ye
will not make known unto me the dream, there is but one decree for you: for ye
have prepared lying and corrupt words to speak before me, till the time be
changed: therefore tell me the dream, and I shall know that ye can show me the
interpretation thereof.
2:10 Y Caldeaid a atebasant o flaen y brenin, ac a ddywedasant, Nid
oes dyn ar y ddaear a ddichon ddangos yr hyn y mae y brenin yn ei ofyn; ac ni
cheisiodd un brenin, na phennaeth, na llywydd, y fath beth â hwn gan un dewin,
nac astronomydd, na Chaldead.
2:10 The
Chaldeans answered before the king, and said, There is not a man upon the earth
that can show the king’s matter: therefore there is no king, lord, nor ruler,
that asked such things at any magician, or astrologer, or Chaldean.
2:11 Canys dieithr yw y peth a gais y brenin, ac nid oes neb arall a
fedr ei ddangos o flaen y brenin, ond y duwiau, y rhai nid yw eu trigfa gyda
chnawd.
2:11 And it is
a rare thing that the king requireth, and there is none other that can show it
before the king, except the gods, whose dwelling is not with flesh.
2:12 O achos hyn y digiodd y brenin ac y creulonodd yn ddirfawr, ac a
orchmynnodd ddifetha holl ddoethion Babilon.
2:12 For this
cause the king was angry and very furious, and commanded to destroy all the
wise men of Babylon.
2:13 Yna yr aeth y gyfraith allan am ladd y doethion;
ceisiasant hefyd Daniel a’i gyfeirion i’w lladd.
2:13 And the
decree went forth that the wise men should be slain; and they sought Daniel and
his fellows to be slain.
2:14 Yna yr atebodd Daniel trwv gyngor a doethineb i Arioch,
pen-distain y brenin, yr hwn a aethai allan, i ladd doethion Babilon:
2:14 Then
Daniel answered with counsel and wisdom to Arioch the captain of the king’s
guard, which was gone forth to slay the wise men of Babylon:
2:15 Efe a lefarodd ac a ddywedodd wrth Arioch, distain y
brenin, Paham y mae y gyfraith yn myned ar y fath frys oddi wrth y brenin? Yna
Arioch a fynegodd y peth i Daniel.
2:15 He
answered and said to Arioch the king’s captain, Why is the decree so hasty from
the king? Then Arioch made the thing known to Daniel.
2:16 Yna Daniel a aeth i mewn, ac ymbiliodd â’r brenin am
roddi iddo amser, ac y dangosai efe y dehongliad i’r brenin.
2:16 Then Daniel
went in, and desired of the king that he would give him time, and that he would
show the king the interpretation.
2:17 Yna yr aeth Daniel i’w dŷ, ac a fynegodd y peth i’w
gyfeillion, Hananeia, Misael, ac Asareia;
2:17 Then
Daniel went to his house, and made the thing known to Hananiah, Mishael, and
Azariah, his companions:
2:18 Fel y ceisient drugareddau gan DDUW y nefoedd yn achos y
dirgelwch hwn; fel na ddifethid Daniel a’i gyfeillion gyda’r rhan arall o
ddoethion Babilon.
2:18 That they
would desire mercies of the God of heaven concerning this secret; that Daniel
and his fellows should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.
2:19 Yna y datguddiwyd y dirgelwch i Daniel mewn gweledigaeth
nos: yna Daniel a fendithiodd DDUW y nefoedd.
2:19 Then was
the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God
of heaven.
2:20 Atebodd Daniel a dywedodd, Bendigedig fyddo enw Duw o
dragwyddoldeb hyd dragwyddoldeb: canys doethineb a nerth ydynt eiddo ef:
2:20 Daniel
answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and
might are his:
2:21 Ac efe sydd yn newid amserau, a thymhorau: efe sydd yn
symud brenhinoedd, ac yn gosod brenhinoedd: efe sydd yn rhoddi doethineb i’r
doethion, a gwybodaeth i’r rhai a fedrant ddeall:
2:21 And he
changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he
giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding:
2:22 Efe sydd yn datguddio y pethau dyfnion a chuddiedig: efe
a ŵyr beth sydd yn y tywyllwch, a chydag ef y mae y goleuni yn trigo.
2:22 He
revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and
the light dwelleth with him.
2:23 Tydi DDUW fy nhadau yr ydwyf fi yn diolch iddo, ac yn ei
foliannu, oherwydd rhoddi ohonot ddoethineb a nerth i mi, a pheri i mi wybod yn
awr yr hyn a geisiasom gennyt: canys gwnaethost i ni wybod it hyn a ofynnodd y
brenin.
2:23 I thank
thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and
might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast
now made known unto us the king’s matter.
2:24 Oherwydd hyn yr aeth Daniel a Arioch, yr hwn a osodasai y brenin
i ddifetha doethion Babilon: efe a aeth, ac a ddywedodd wrtho fel hyn; Na
ddifetha ddoethion Babilon; dwg fi o flaen y brenin a mi a ddangosaf i’r brenin
dehongliad.
2:24 Therefore
Daniel went in unto Arioch, whom the king had ordained to destroy the wise men of
Babylon: he went and said thus unto him; Destroy not the wise men of Babylon:
bring me in before the king, and I will show unto the king the interpretation.
2:25 Yna y dug Arioch Daniel o flaen y brenin ar frys, ac a ddywedodd
wrtho fel hyn; Cefais ŵr o blant caethiwed Jwda, yr hwn a fynega i’r
brenin y dehongliad.
2:25 Then
Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I
have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king
the interpretation.
2:26 Atebodd y brenin, a dywedodd wrth Daniel, yr hwn yr oedd ei enw
Beltesassar, A elli di fynegi i mi y breuddwyd a welais, a’i ddehongliad?
2:26 The king
answered and said to Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, Art thou able to make
known unto me the dream which I have seen, and the interpretation thereof?
2:27 Atebodd Daniel o flaen y brenin, a dywedodd, Ni all
doethion, astronomyddion, dewiniaid, na brudwyr, ddangos i’r brenin y dirgelwch
y mae y brenin yn ei ofyn:
2:27 Daniel
answered in the presence of the king, and said, The secret which the king hath
demanded cannot the wise men, the astrologers, the magicians, the soothsayers,
show unto the king;
2:28 Ond y mae Duw yn y nefoedd yn datguddio dirgeledigaethau,
ac a fynegodd i’r brenin Nebuchodonosor beth a fydd yn y dyddiau diwethaf. Dy
freuddwyd a gweledigaethau dy ben yn dy wely ydoedd hyn yma:
2:29 Ti frenin, dy feddyliau a godasant yn dy ben ar dy wely,
beth oedd i ddyfod ar ôl hyn: a’r hwn sydd yn datguddio dirgeledigaethau, a
fynegodd i ti beth a fydd.
2:29 As for
thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to
pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall
come to pass.
2:30 Minnau hefyd, nid oherwydd y doethineb sydd ynof fi yn fwy na
neb byw, y datguddiwyd i mi y dirgelwch hwn: ond o’u hachos hwynt y rhai a
fynegant y dehongliad i’r brenin, ac fel y gwybyddit feddyliau dy galon.
2:30 But as for
me, this secret is not revealed to me for any wisdom that I have more than any
living, but for their sakes that shall make known the interpretation to the
king, and that thou mightest know the thoughts of thy heart.
2:31 Ti, frenin, oeddit yn gweled, ac wele ryw ddelw fawr hon, yr
oedd ei disgleirdeb yn rhagorol, oedd yn sefyll gyferbyn â thi; a’r olwg oedd
arni ydoedd ofnadwy.
2:31 Thou, O king,
sawest, and behold a great image. This great image, whose brightness was
excellent, stood before thee; and the form thereof was terrible.
2:32 Pen y delw hon ydoedd o aur da, ei dwyfron a’i breichiau
o arian, ei bol a’i morddwyd o bres,
2:32 This image’s
head was of fine gold, his breast and his arms of silver, his belly and his
thighs of brass,
2:33 Ei choesau o haearn, ei thraed oedd beth ohonynt o
haearn, a pheth ohonynt o bridd.
2:33 His legs
of iron, his feet part of iron and part of clay.
2:34 Edrych yr oeddit hyd oni thorrwyd allan garreg, nid trwy waith
dwylo, a hi a drawodd y ddelw at ei thraed o haearn a phridd, ac a’u maluriodd
hwynt.
2:34 Thou
sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon
his feet that were of iron and clay, and brake them to pieces.
2:35 Yna yr haearn, y pridd, y pres, yr arian, a’r aur, a
gydfaluriasant, ac oeddynt fel mân us yn dyfod o’r lloriau dyrnu haf; a’r gwynt
a’u dug hwynt ymaith, ac ni chaed lle iddynt; a’r garreg yr hon a drawodd y
ddelw a aeth yn fynydd mawr, fel ac a lanwodd yr holl ddaear.
2:35 Then was
the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken to pieces
together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshingfloors; and the wind
carried them away, that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote
the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
2:36 Dyma y breuddwyd: dywedwn hefyd ei ddehongliad o flaen y brenin.
2:36 This is
the dream; and we will tell the interpretation thereof before the king.
2:37 Ti, frenin, wyt frenin brenhinoedd: canys Duw y nefoedd a
roddodd i ti frenhiniaeth, gallu, a nerth, a gogoniant.
2:37 Thou, O
king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom,
power, and strength, and glory.
2:38 A pha le bynnag y preswylia plant dynion, efe a roddes dan dy
law fwystfilod y maes, ac ehediaid y nefoedd, ac a’th osododd di yn arglwydd
arnynt oll: ti yw y pen aur hwnnw.
2:38 And
wheresoever the children of men dwell, the beasts of the field and the fowls of
the heaven hath he given into thine hand, and hath made thee ruler over them
all. Thou art this head of gold.
2:39 Ac ar dy ôl di y cyfyd brenhiniaeth arall is na thi, a
thrydedd frenhiniaeth arall o bres, yr hon a lywodraetha ar yr holl ddaear.
2:39 And after
thee shall arise another kingdom inferior to thee, and another third kingdom of
brass, which shall bear rule over all the earth.
2:40 Bydd hefyd y bedwaredd frenhin iaeth yn gref fel haearn: canys
yr haearn a ddryllia, ac a ddofa bob peth: ac fel haearn, yr hwn a ddryllia bob
peth, y maluria ac y dryllia hi.
2:40 And the
fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces
and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in
pieces and bruise.
2:41 A lle y gwelaist y traed a’r bysedd, peth ohonynt o bridd
crochenydd, a pheth ohonynt o haearn, brenhiniaeth ranedig fydd; a bydd ynddi
beth o gryfder haearn, oherwydd gweled ohonot haearn wedi ei gymysgu â phridd
cleilyd.
2:41 And
whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron,
the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the
iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.
2:42 Ac fel yr ydoedd bysedd y traed, peth o haearn, a pheth o bridd;
felly y bydd y frenhiniaeth, o ran yn gref, ac o ran yn frau.
2:42 And as the
toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be
partly strong, and partly broken.
2:43 A lle y gwelaist haearn wedi ei oedd gymysgu â phridd cleilyd,
ymgymysgant â had dyn; ond ni lynant y naill wrth y llall, megis nad ymgymysga
haearn â phridd.
2:43 And
whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves
with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is
not mixed with clay.
2:44 Ac yn nyddiau y brenhinoedd hyn, y cyfyd Duw y nefoedd
frenhiniaeth, yr hon ni ddistrywir byth: a’r frenhiniaeth ni adewir i bobl
eraill; ond hi a faluria ac a dreulia yr holl freniniaethau hyn, a hi a saif yn
dragwydd.
2:44 And in the
days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never
be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall
break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.
2:45 Lle y gwelaist dorri carreg o’r mynydd, yr hon ni thorrwyd â
llaw, a malurio ohoni yr haearn, y pres, y pridd, yr arian, a’r aur; hysbysodd
y DUW mawr i’r brenin beth a fydd wedi hyn: felly y breuddwyd sydd wir, a’i
ddehongliad yn ffyddlon.
2:45 Forasmuch
as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and
that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the
gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass
hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
2:46 Yna y syrthiodd, Nebuchodonosor y brenin ar ei wyneb, ac a
addolodd Daniel; gorchmynnodd hefyd am offrymu iddo offrwm ac arogl-darth.
2:46 Then the
king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded
that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.
2:47 Atebodd y brenin a dywedodd wrth Daniel, Mewn gwirionedd y gwn
mai eich DUWchwi yw DUW y duwiau, ac Arglwydd y brenhinoedd, a datguddydd
dirgeledigaethau, oherwydd medru ohonot ddatguddio y dirgelwch hwn.
2:47 The king
answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth it is, that your God is a God of
gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest
reveal this secret.
2:48 Yna y brenin a fawrygodd Daniel, ac a roddes iddo roddion
mawrion lawer; ac efe a’i gwnaeth ef yn bennaeth ar holl dalaith Babilon, ac yn
ben i’r swyddogion ar holl ddoethion Babilon.
2:48 Then the
king made Daniel a great man, and gave him many great gifts, and made him ruler
over the whole province of Babylon, and chief of the governors over all the
wise men of Babylon.
2:49 Yna Daniel a ymbiliodd â’r brenin, ac yntau a osododd Sadrach,
Mesach, ac Abednego ar lywodraeth talaith Babilon, ond Daniel a eisteddodd ym
mhorth y brenin.
2:49 Then
Daniel requested of the king, and he set Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, over
the affairs of the province of Babylon: but Daniel sat in the gate of the king.

3:1 Nebuchodonosor y brenin a wnaeth ddelw aur, ei huchder oedd yn
drigain cufydd, ei lled yn chwe chufydd; ac efe a’i gosododd hi i fyny yng
ngwastadedd Dura, o fewn talaith Babilon.
3:1
Nebuchadnezzar the king made an image of gold, whose height was threescore
cubits, and the breadth thereof six cubits: he set it up in the plain of Dura,
in the province of Babylon.
3:2 Yna Nebuchodonosor y brenin a anfonodd i gasglu ynghyd y
tywysogion, dugiaid, a phendefigioin, y rhaglawiaid, y trysorwyr, y

3:2 Then
Nebuchadnezzar the king sent to gather together the princes, the governors, and
the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and
all the rulers of the provinces, to come to the dedication of the image which
Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.
3:3 Yna y tywysogion, dugiaid, a phendefigion, rhaglawiaid, y trysorwyr,
y cyfreithwyr, y trethwyr, a holl lywodraethwyr y taleithiau, a ymgasglasant
ynghyd wrth gysegru y ddelw a gyfodasai Nebuchodonosor y brenin: a hwy a
safasant o flaen y ddelw a gyfodasai Nebuchodonosor.
3:3 Then the
princes, the governors, and captains, the judges, the treasurers, the
counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, were gathered
together unto the dedication of the image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set
up; and they stood before the image that Nebuchadnezzar had set up.
3:4 A chyhoeddwr a lefodd yn groch, Wrthych chwi, bobloedd,
genhedloedd, a ieithoedd, y dywedir.
3:4 Then an
herald cried aloud, To you it is commanded, O people, nations, and languages,
3:5 Pan glywoch sŵn y cornet, y chwibanogl, y delyn, y dulsimer,
y saltring, y symffon, a phob rhyw gerdd, y syrthiwch ac yr addolwch y ddelw
aur a gyfododd Nebuchodonosor y brenin.
3:5 That at
what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery,
dulcimer, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and worship the golden image
that Nebuchadnezzar the king hath set up:
3:6 A’r hwn ni syrthio ac ni addolo, yr awr honno a fwrir i
ganol ffwrn o dân poeth.
3:6 And whoso
falleth not down and worshippeth shall the same hour be cast into the midst of a
burning fiery furnace.
3:7 Am hynny yr amser hwnnw, pan glywodd yr holl bobloedd sain y
cornet, y chwibanogl, y delyn, y
dulsimer, y saltring, a phob rhyw gerdd, y bobloedd, y cenhedloedd, a’r
ieithoedd oll, a syrthiasant, ac a addolasant y ddelw aur a gyfodasai
Nebuchodonosor y brenin.
3:7 Therefore
at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp,
sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of music, all the people, the nations, and the
languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the
king had set up.
3:8 O ran hynny yr amser hwnnw y daeth gŵr o Caldea, ac a
gyhuddasant yr Iddewon.
3:8 Wherefore
at that time certain Chaldeans came near, and accused the Jews.
3:9 Adroddasant a dywedasant wrth Nebuchodonosor y brenin,
Bydd fyw, frenin, yn dragywydd.
3:9 They spake
and said to the king Nebuchadnezzar, O king, live for ever.
3:10 Ti, frenin, a osodaist orchymyn, ar i bwy bynnag a glywai
sain y cornet, y chwibanogl, y delyn, y
dulsimer, y saltring, a’r symffon, a phob rhyw gerdd, syrthio ac ymgryrnu i’r
ddelw aur:
3:10 Thou, O
king, hast made a decree, that every man that shall hear the sound of the
cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music,
shall fall down and worship the golden image:
3:11 A phwy byanag ni syrthiai ac nid ymgrymai, y teflid ef i
ganol ffwrn o dân poeth.
3:11 And whoso
falleth not down and worshippeth, that he should be cast into the midst of a
burning fiery furnace.
3:12 Y mae gwŷr o Iddewon a osodaist ti ar oruchwyliaeth talaith
Babilon, Sadrach, Mesach, ac Abednego; y gwŷr hyn, O frenin, ni wnaethant
gyfrif ohonot ti; dy dduwiau nid addolant, ac nid ymgrymant i’r ddelw aur a
gyfodaist.
3:12 There are
certain Jews whom thou hast set over the affairs of the province of Babylon,
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego; these men, O king, have not regarded thee:
they serve not thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
3:13 Yna Nebuchodonosor mewn llidiowgrwydd a dicter a ddywedodd am
gyrchu Sadrach, Mesach, ac Abednego. Yna y ducpwyd y gwŷr hyn o flaen y brenin.
3:13 Then
Nebuchadnezzar in his rage and fury commanded to bring Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego. Then they brought these men before the king.
3:14 Adroddodd Nebuchodonosor a dywedodd wrthynt, Ai gwir hyn,
Sadrach, Mesach, ac Abednego? oni addolwch chwi fy nuwiau i, ac oni ymgrymwch
i’r ddelw aur a gyfodais i?
3:14
Nebuchadnezzar spake and said unto them, Is it true, O Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego, do not ye serve my gods, nor worship the golden image which I have
set up?
3:15 Yr awr hon wele, os byddwch chwi barod pan glywoch sain y
cornet, y chwibanogl, y delyn, y dulsimer, y saltring, y symffon, a phob rhyw
gerdd, i syrthio ac i ymgrymu i’r ddelw a wneuthum, da: ac onid ymgrymwch, yr
awr honno y bwrir chwi i ganol ffwrn o dân poeth; a pha DDUW yw efe a’ch gwared
chwi o’m dwylo i?
3:15 Now if ye
be ready that at what time ye hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp,
sackbut, psaltery, and dulcimer, and all kinds of music, ye fall down and
worship the image which I have made; well: but if ye worship not, ye shall be
cast the same hour into the midst of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that
God that shall deliver you out of my hands?
3:16 Sadrach, Mesach, ae Abednego a atebasant ac a ddywedasant wrth y
brenin, Nebuchodonosor, nid ydym ni yn gofalu am ateb i ti yn y peth hyn.
3:16 Shadrach,
Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are
not careful to answer thee in this matter.
3:17 Wele, y mae ein DUW ni, yr hwn yr ydym ni yn ei addoli yn abl
i’n gwared ni allan o’r ffwrn danllyd boeth, ac efe a’n gwared ni o’th law di,
O frenin.
3:17 If it be
so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace,
and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
3:18 Ac onid e, bydded hysbys i ti, frenin, na addolwn dy dduwiau, ac
nad ymgrymwn i’th ddelw aur a gyfodaist.
3:18 But if
not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor
worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
3:19 Yna y llanwyd Nebuchodonosor o llidiowgrwydd, a gwedd, ei wyneb
ef a newidiodd yn erbyn Sadrach, Mesach, ac Abednego; am hynny y llefarodd ac y
dywedodd am dwymo y ffwrn seithwaith mwy nag y byddid arfer o’i thwymo hi.
3:19 Then was
Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his visage was changed against
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego: therefore he spake, and commanded that they
should heat the furnace one seven times more than it was wont to be heated.
3:20 Ac efe a ddywedodd wrth wŷr cryfion nerthol, y rhai oedd yn
ei lu ef, am rwymo Sadrach, Mesach, ac Abednego, i’w bwrw i’r ffwrn o dân
poeth.
3:20 And he
commanded the most mighty men that were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach,
and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace.
3:21 Yna y rhwymwyd y gwŷr hynny yn eu peisiau, eu llodrau, au
cwcyllau, a’u dillad eraill, ac a’u bwriwyd i ganol y ffwrn o dân poeth.
3:21 Then these
men were bound in their coats, their hosen, and their hats, and their other
garments, and were cast into the midst of the burning fiery furnace.
3:22 Gan hynny, o achos bod gorchymyn y brenin yn gaeth, a’r ffwrn yn
boeth ragorol, fflam y tân a laddodd y gwŷr hynny a fwriasant i fyny
Sadrach, Mesach, ac Abednego.
3:22 Therefore
because the king’s commandment was urgent, and the furnace exceeding hot, the
flame of the fire slew those men that took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego.
3:23 A’r triwyr hyn, Sadrach, Mesach, ac Abednego, a syrthiasant yng
nghanol y ffwrn o dân poeth yn rhwym.
3:23 And these
three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, fell down bound into the midst of
the burning fiery furnace.
3:24 Yna y synnodd ar Nebuchodonosor, a cy cyfododd ar frys, atebodd
hefyd a dywedodd wrth ei gynghoriaid, Onid triwyr a fwriasom ni i ganol y ffwrn
yn rhwym? Hwy a atebasant ac a ddywedasant wrth y brenin, Gwir, O
frenin.
3:24 Then
Nebuchadnezzar the king was astonied, and rose up in haste, and spake, and said
unto his counsellors, Did not we cast three men bound into the midst of the
fire? They answered and said unto the king, True, O king.
3:25 Atebodd a dywedodd yntau, Wele fi yn gweled pedwar o wŷr
rhyddion yn rhodio yng nghanol y tân, ac nid oes niwed arnynt; a dull y
pedwerydd sydd debyg i Fab DUW.
3:25 He
answered and said, Lo, I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire,
and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.
3:26 Yna y nesaodd Nebuchodonosor at enau y ffwrn o dân poeth, ac a
lefarodd ac a ddywedodd, O Sadrach, Mesach, ac Abednego, gwasanaethwyr y Duw
goruchaf, deuwch allan, a deuwch yma. Yna Sadrach, Mesach, ac Abednego a
ddaethant allan o ganol y tân.
3:26 Then
Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace, and spake,
and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, ye servants of the most high God,
come forth, and come hither. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, came forth
of the midst of the fire.
3:27 A’r tywysogion, dugiaid, a phendefigion, a chynghoriaid y
brenin, a ymgasglasant ynghyd, ac a welsant y gwŷr hyn, y rhai ni finiasai
y tân ar eu cyrff, ac ni ddeifiasai flewyn o’u pen, ni newidiasai eu peisiau
chwaith, ac nid aethai sawr y tân arnynt.
3:27 And the
princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered
together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an
hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of
fire had passed on them.
3:28 Atebodd Nebuchodonosor a dywedodd, Bendigedig yw Duw
Sadrach, Mesach, ac Abednego, yr hwn a anfonodd ei angel ac a waredodd ei
weision a ymddiriedasant ynddo, ac a dorasant orchymyn y brenin, ac a roddasant
eu cyrff, rhag gwasanaethu nac ymgrymu ohonynt i un duw, ond i’w DUW eu hun
3:28 Then
Nebuchadnezzar spake, and said, Blessed be the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and
Abednego, who hath sent his angel, and delivered his servants that trusted in
him, and have changed the king’s word, and yielded their bodies, that they
might not serve nor worship any god, except their own God.
3:29 Am hynny y gosodir gorchymyn gennyf fi, Pob pobl, cenedl, a
iaith, yr hon a ddywedo ddim ar fai yn erbyri DUW Sadrach, Mesach ‘ac Abednego,
a wneir yn ddrylliau, a’u tai a wneir yn domen: oherwydd nad oes duw arall a
ddichon wared fel hyn.
3:29 Therefore
I make a decree, That every people, nation, and language, which speak any thing
amiss against the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, shall be cut in
pieces, and their houses shall be made a dunghill: because there is no other
God that can deliver after this sort.
3:30 Yna y mawrhaodd y brenin Sadrach, Mesach, ac Abednego, o
fewn talaith Babilon.
3:30 Then the
king promoted Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, in the province of Babylon.

4:1 Nebuchodonosor frenin at yr holl bobloedd, cenhedloedd, a
ieithoedd, y rhai a drigant yn yr holl ddaear; Aml fyddo heddwch i chwi.
4:1
Nebuchadnezzar the king, unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in
all the earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
4:2 Mi a welais yn dda fynegi yr arwyddion a’r rhyfeddodau a wnaeth y
goruchaf DDUW â mi.
4:2 I thought
it good to show the signs and wonders that the high God hath wrought toward me.
4:3 Mor fawr yw ei arwyddion ef! ac mor gedyrn yw ei ryfeddodau! ei
deyrnas ef sydd deyrnas dragwyddol, a’i lywodraeth ef sydd o genhedlaeth i
genhedlaeth.
4:3 How great
are his signs! and how mighty are his wonders! his kingdom is an everlasting
kingdom, and his dominion is from generation to generation.
4:4 Myfi Nebuchodonosor oeddwn esmwyth arnaf yn fy nhŷ, ac yn
hoyw yn fy llys.
4:4 I
Nebuchadnezzar was at rest in mine house, and flourishing in my palace:
4:5 Gwelais freuddwyd yr hwn a’m hofnodd; meddyliau hefyd yn
fy ngwely, a gweledigaethau fy mhen, a’m dychrynasant.
4:5 I saw a
dream which made me afraid, and the thoughts upon my bed and the visions of my
head troubled me.
4:6 Am hynny y gosodwyd gorchymyn gennyf fl, ar ddwyn ger fy mron
holl ddoethion Babilon, fel yr hysbysent i mi ddehongliad y breuddwyd.
4:6 Therefore
made I a decree to bring in all the wise men of Babylon before me, that they
might make known unto me the interpretation of the dream.
4:7 Yna y dewiniaid, yr astronomyddion, y Caldeaid, a’r brudwyr, a
ddaethant: a mi a ddywedais y breuddwyd o’u blaen hwynt; ond ei ddehongliad nid
hysbysasant i mi.
4:7 Then came
in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I
told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the
interpretation thereof.
4:8 Ond o’r diwedd daeth Daniel o’m blaen i, (yr hwn yw ei enw
Beltesassar, yn ôl enw fy nuw i, yr hwn hefyd y mae ysbryd y duwiau sanctaidd
ynddo,) a’m breuddwyd a draethais o’i flaen ef, gan ddywedyd,
4:8 But at the last
Daniel came in before me, whose name was Belteshazzar, according to the name of
my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods: and before him I told the
dream, saying,
4:9 Beltesassar, pennaeth y dewiniaid, oherwydd i mi wybod fod
ysbryd y duwiau sanctaidd ynot ti, ac nad oes un dirgelwch yn anodd i ti, dywed
weledigaethau fy mreuddwyd yr hwn a welais, a’i ddehongliad.
4:9 O
Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the
holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my
dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof.
4:10 A dyma weledigaethau fy mhen ar fy ngwely; Edrych yr oeddwn, ac
wele bren yng nghanol y ddaear, a’i uchder yn fawr.
4:10 Thus were
the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold, a tree in the midst of
the earth, and the height thereof was great.
4:11 Mawr oedd y pren a chadam, a’i uchder a gyrhaeddai hyd y
nefoedd; yr ydoedd hefyd i’w weled hyd yn eithaf yr holl ddaear.
4:11 The tree
grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight
thereof to the end of all the earth:
4:12 Ei ganghennau oedd deg, a’i ffrwyth yn aml, ac ymborth
arno i bob peth: dano yr ymgysgodai bwystfilod y maes, ac adar y nefoedd a
drigent yn ei ganghennau ef, a phob cnawd a fwytâi ohono.
4:12 The leaves
thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the
beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in
the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
4:13 Edrych yr oeddwn yng ngweledigaethau fy mhen ar fy
ngwely, ac wele wyliedydd a sanct yn disgyn o’r nefoedd,
4:13 I saw in
the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came
down from heaven;
4:14 Yn llefain yn groch, ac yn dywedyd fel hyn, Torrwch y
pren, ac ysgythrwch ei wrysg ef, ysgydwch ei ddail ef, a gwasgerwch ei ffrwyth:
cilied y bwystfil oddi tano, a’r adar o’i ganghennau.
4:14 He cried
aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off
his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and
the fowls from his branches:
4:15 Er hynny gadewch foncyff ei wraidd ef yn y ddaear, mewn
rhwym o haearn a phres, ymhlith gwellt y maes; gwlycher ef hefyd â gwlith y
nefoedd, a bydded ei ran gyda’r bwystfilod yng ngwellt y ddaear.
4:15
Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of
iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the
dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the
earth:
4:16 Newidier ei galon ef o fod yn galon dyn, a rhodder iddo
galon bwystfil: a chyfnewidier saith amser arno.
4:16 Let his
heart be changed from man’s, and let a beast’s heart be given unto him: and let
seven times pass over him.
4:17 O ordinhad y gwyliedyddion y mae y peth hyn, a’r dymuniad wrth
ymadrodd y rhai sanctaidd; fel y gwypo y rhai byw mai y Goruchaf a lywodraetha
ym mrenhiniaeth dynion, ac a’i rhydd i’r neb y mynno efe, ac a esyd arni y,
gwaelaf o ddynion.
4:17 This
matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy
ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the
kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the
basest of men.
4:18 Dyma y breuddwyd a welais Nebuchodonosor y brenin. Tithau,
Beltesassar, dywed ei ddehongliad ef oherwydd nas gall holl ddoethion fy
nheyrnas hysbysu y dehongliad i mi: eithr ti a elli; am fod ysbryd y duwiau
sanctaidd ynot ti.
4:18 This dream
I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the
interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not
able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the
spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
4:19 Yna Daniel, yr hwn ydoedd ei enw Beltesassar, a synnodd dros un
awr, a’i feddyliau a’i dychrynasant ef. Atebodd y brenin, a dywedodd,
Beltesassar, na ddychryned y breuddwyd di, na’i ddehongliad. Atebodd
Beltesassar, a dywedodd, Fy arglwydd, deued y breuddwyd i’th gaseion, a’i
ddehongliad i’th elynion.
4:19 Then
Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his
thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the
dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and
said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation
thereof to thine enemies.
4:20 Y pren a welaist, yr hwn a dyfasai, ac a gryfhasai, ac a
gyraeddasai ei uchder hyd y nefoedd, ac oedd i’w weled ar hyd yr holl ddaear;
4:20 The tree
that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the
heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth;
4:21 A’i ddail yn deg, a’i ffrwyth yn aml, ac ymborth i bob
peth ynddo; tan yr hwn y trigai bwystfilod y maes, ac y preswyliai adar y
nefoedd yn ei ganghennau:
4:21 Whose
leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under
which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the
heaven had their habitation:
4:22 Ti, frenin, yw efe; tydi a dyfaist, ac a gryfheaist:
canys dy fawredd a gynyddodd, ac a gyrhaeddodd hyd y nefoedd, a’th lywodraeth
hyd eithaf y ddaear.
4:22 It is
thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and
reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth.
4:23 A lle y gwelodd y brenin wyliedydd a sanct yn disgyn o’r
nefoedd, ac yn dywedyd, Torrwch y pren, a dinistriwch ef, er hynny gadewch
foncyff ei wraidd ef yn y ddaear, mewn rhwym o haearn a phres, ymhlith gwellt y
maes, a gwlycher ef â gwlith y nefoedd, a bydded ei ran gyda bwystfil y maes,
hyd oni chyfnewidio saith amser arno ef:
4:23 And
whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and
saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots
thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass
of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be
with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
4:24 Dyma y dehongliad, O frenin, a dyma ordinhad y Goruchaf,
yr hwn sydd yn dyfod ar fy arglwydd frenin.
4:24 This is
the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is
come upon my lord the king:
4:25 ··Canys gyrrant di oddi wrth ddynion, a chyda bwystfil y
maes y bydd dy drigfa, â gwellt hefyd y’th borthant fel eidionau, ac a’th
wlychant â gwlith y nefoedd, a saith amser a gyfnewidia arnat ti, hyd oni
wypech mai y Goruchaf sydd yn llywodraethu ym mrenhiniaeth dynion, ac yn ei
rhoddi i’r neb a fynno
4:25 That they
shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the
field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with
the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that
the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he
will.
4:26 A lle y dywedasant am adael boncyff gwraidd y pren; dy
frenhiniaeth fydd sicr i ti, wedi i ti wybod mai y nefoedd sydd yn
llywodraethu.
4:26 And
whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall
be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule.
4:27 Am hynny, frenin, bydded fodlon gennyt fy nghyngor, a thor
ymaith dy bechodau trwy gyfiawnder, a’th anwireddau trwy drugarhau wrth
drueiniaid, i edrych a fydd estyniad ar dy heddwch.
4:27 Wherefore,
O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by
righteousness, and thine iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if it may be
a lengthening of thy tranquillity.
4:28 Daeth hyn oll ar Nebuchodonosor y brenin.
4:28 All this
came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar.
4:29 Ymhen deuddeng mis yr oedd efe rhodio yn llys brenhiniaeth
Babilon.
4:29 At the end
of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.
4:30 Llefarodd y brenin, a dywedodd, Onid hon yw Babilon fawr, yr hon
a adeiledais i yn frenhindy yng nghryfder fy nerth, ac er gogoniant fy
mawrhydi?
4:30 The king
spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of
the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?
4:31 A’r gair eto yng ngenau y brenin, syrthiodd llef o’r nefoedd, yn
dywedyd,
Wrthyt ti, frenin Nebuchodonosor, y dywedir, Aeth y frenhiniaeth oddi wrthyt.
4:31 While the
word was in the king’s mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king
Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee.
4:32 A thi a yrrir oddi wrth ddynion, a’th drigfa fydd gyda
bwystfilod y maes; â gwellt y’th borthant fel eidionau; a chyfnewidir saith
amser arnat; hyd oni wypech mai y Goruchaf sydd yn llywodraethu ym
mhrenhiniaeth dynion, ac yn ei rhoddi i’r neb y mynno.
4:32 And they
shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the
field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass
over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and
giveth it to whomsoever he will.
4:33 Yr awr honno y cyflawnwyd y gair ar Nebuchodonosor, ac y gyrrwyd
ef oddi wrth ddynion, ac y porodd wellt fel eidionau, ac y gwlychwyd ei gorff
ef gan wlith y nefoedd, hyd oni thyfodd ei flew ef fel plu eryrod, a’i ewinedd
fel ewinedd adar.
4:33 The same
hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men,
and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till
his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.
4:34 Ac yn niwedd y dyddiau, myfi Nebuchodonosor a ddyrchefais fy
llygaid tua’r nefoedd, a’m gwybodaeth a ddychwelodd ataf, a bendithiais y
Goruchaf, a moliennais a gogoneddais yr hwn sydd yn byw byth, am fod ei
lywodraeth ef yn llywodraeth dragwyddol,
a’i frenhiniaeth hyd genhedlaeth a chenhedlaeth.
4:34 And at the
end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine
understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured
him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his
kingdom is from generation to generation:
4:35 A holl drigolion y ddaear a gyfrifir megis yn ddiddim: ac

4:35 And all
the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to
his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and
none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?
4:36 Yn yr amser hwnnw y dychwelodd fy synnwyr ataf fi, a deuthum i
ogoniant fy mrenhiniaeth, fy harddwch am hoywder a ddychwelodd ataf fi, am
cynghoriaid a’m tywysogion a’m ceisiasant; felly y’m sicrhawyd yn fy nheyrnas,
a chwanegwyd i mi fawredd rhagorol.
4:36 At the
same time my reason returned unto me; and for the glory of my kingdom, mine
honour and brightness returned unto me; and my counsellors and my lords sought
unto me; and I was established in my kingdom, and excellent majesty was added
unto me.
4:37 Yr awr hon myfi Nebuchodonosor ydwyf yn moliannu, ac yn mawrygu,
ac yn gogoneddu Brenin y nefoedd, yr hwn y mae ei holl weithredoedd yn
wirionedd, a’i lwybrau yn farn, ac a ddichon ddarostwng y rhai a rodiant mewn
balchder.
4:37 Now I
Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works
are truth, and his ways judgment: and those that walk in pride he is able to
abase.

5:1 Belsassar y brenin a wnaeth wledd fawr i fil o’i
dywysogion, ac a yfodd win yng ngŵydd y mil.
5:1 Belshazzar
the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before
the thousand.
5:2 Wrth flas y gwin y dywedodd Belsassar am ddwyn y llestri aur ac arian,
a ddygasai Nebuchodonosor ei dad ef o’r deml yr hon oedd yn Jerwsalem, fel yr
yfai y brenin a’i dywysogion, ei wragedd a’i ordderchadon, ynddynt.
5:2 Belshazzar,
whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels
which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in
Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might
drink therein.
5:3 Yna y dygwyd y llestri aur a ddygasid o deml tŷ DDUW, yr hwn
oedd yn Jerwsalem: a’r brenin a’i dywysogion, ei wragedd a’i ordderchadon, a
yfasant ynddynt.
5:3 Then they
brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of
God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his
concubines, drank in them.
5:4 Yfasant win, a
molianasant y duwiau o aur, ac o arian, o bres, o haearn, o goed, ac o faen.
5:4 They drank
wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood,
and of stone.
5:5 Yr awr honno bysedd llaw dyn a ddaethant allan, ac a
ysgrifenasant ar gyfer y canhwyllbren ar galchiad pared llys y brenin; a
gwelodd y brenin ddarn y llaw a ysgrifennodd.
5:5 In the same
hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick
upon the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of
the hand that wrote.
5:6 Yna y newidiodd lliw y brenin, a’i feddyliau a’i cyffroesant ef,
fel y datododd rhwymau ei lwynau ef, ac y curodd ei liniau ef y naill wrth y
llall.
5:6 Then the king’s
countenance was changed, and his thoughts troubled him, so that the joints of
his loins were loosed, and his knees smote one against another.
5:7 Gwaeddodd y brenin yn groch am ddwyn i mewn yr astronomyddion, y
Caldeaid, a’r brudwyr: a llefarodd y brenin, a dywedodd wrth ddoethion Babilon,
Pa ddyn bynnag a ddarlleno yr ysgrifen hon, ac a ddangoso i mi ei dehongliad,
efe a wisgir â phorffor, ac a gaiff gadwyn aur am ei wddf, a chaiff lywodraethu
yn drydydd yn y deyrnas.
5:7 The king
cried aloud to bring in the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers.
And the king spake, and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whosoever shall read
this writing, and show me the interpretation thereof, shall be clothed with
scarlet, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler
in the kingdom.
5:8 Yna holl ddoethion y brenin a ddaethant i mewn; ond ni
fedrent ddarllen yr ysgrifen, na mynegi i’r brenin ei dehongliad.
5:8 Then came
in all the king’s wise men: but they could not read the writing, nor make known
to the king the interpretation thereof.
5:9 Yna y mawr gyffrôdd y brenin Belsassar, a’i wedd a ymnewidiodd
ynddo, a’i dywysogion a synasant.
5:9 Then was
king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his countenance was changed in him, and
his lords were astonied.
5:10 Y frenhines, oherwydd y geiriau; y brenin a’i dywysogion, a
ddaeth i dŷ y wledd, a llefarodd y frenhines, a dywedodd, Bydd fyw byth,
:frenin; na chyffroed dy feddyliau di, ac na newidied dy wedd.
5:10 Now the
queen by reason of the words of the king and his lords came into the banquet
house: and the queen spake and said, O king, live for ever: let not thy
thoughts trouble thee, nor let thy countenance be changed:
5:11 Y mae gŵr yn dy deyrnas, yr hwn y mae ysbryd y
duwiau sanctaidd ynddo; ac yn nyddiau dy dad y caed ynddo ef oleuni, a deall, a
doethineb fel doethineb y duwiau: a’r brenin Nebuchodonosor dy dad a’i gosododd
ef yn bennaeth y dewiniaid, astronomyddion, Caldeaid, a brudwyr, sef y brenin
dy dad di.
5:11 There is a
man in thy kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of
thy father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, was
found in him; whom the king Nebuchadnezzar thy father, the king, I say, thy
father, made master of the magicians, astrologers, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;
5:12 Oherwydd cael yn y Daniel hwnnw, yr hwn y rhoddes y
brenin iddo enw Beltesassar, ysbryd rhagorol, a gwybodaeth a deall, deongl
breuddwydion, ac egluro damhegion, a datod clymau: galwer Daniel yr awron, ac
efe a ddengys y dehongliad.
5:12 Forasmuch
as an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of
dreams, and showing of hard sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in
the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar: now let Daniel be called,
and he will show the interpretation.
5:13 Yna y ducpwyd Daniel o flaen y brenin: a llefarodd y brenin, a
dywedodd wrth Daniel, Ai tydi yw Daniel, yr hwn wyt o feibion caethglud Jwda, y
rhai a ddug y brenin fy nhad i o Jwda?
5:13 Then was
Daniel brought in before the king. And the king spake and said unto Daniel, Art
thou that Daniel, which art of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the
king my father brought out of Jewry?
5:14 Myfi a glywais sôn amdanat, fod ysbryd y duwiau ynot, a
chael ynot ti oleuni, a deall, a doethineb rhagorol.
5:14 I have
even heard of thee, that the spirit of the gods is in thee, and that light and
understanding and excellent wisdom is found in thee.
5:15 Ac yr awr hon dygwyd y doethion, yr astronomyddion, o’m blaen, i
ddarllen yr ysgrifen hon, ac i fynegi i mi ei dehongliad: ond ni fedrent
ddangos dehongliad y peth.
5:15 And now
the wise men, the astrologers, have been brought in before me, that they should
read this writing, and make known unto me the interpretation thereof: but they
could not show the interpretation of the thing:
5:16 Ac mi a glywais amdanatti, y rnedri ddeongl deongliadau,
a datod clymau: yr awr hon os medri ddarllen yr ysgrifen, a hysbysu i mi ei
dehongliad, tydi a wisgir â phorffor, ac a gei gadwyn aur am dy wddf, ac a gei
lywodraethu yn drydydd yn y deyrnas.
5:16 And I have
heard of thee, that thou canst make interpretations, and dissolve doubts: now
if thou canst read the writing, and make known to me the interpretation
thereof, thou shalt be clothed with scarlet, and have a chain of gold about thy
neck, and shalt be the third ruler in the kingdom.
5:17 Yna yr atebodd Daniel, ac y dywedodd o flaen y brenin, Bydded dy
roddion i ti, a dod dy anrhegion i arall; er hynny yr ysgrifen a ddarllenaf i’r
brenin, a’r dehongliad a hysbysaf iddo.
5:17 Then
Daniel answered and said before the king, Let thy gifts be to thyself, and give
thy rewards to another; yet I will read the writing unto the king, and make
known to him the interpretation.
5:18 O frenin, y DUW goruchaf a roddes i Nebuchbdonosor dy dad
di frenhiniaeth, a mawredd, a gogoniant, ac anrhydedd.
5:18 O thou
king, the most high God gave Nebuchadnezzar thy father a kingdom, and majesty,
and glory, and honour:
5:19 Ac oherwydd y mawredd a roddasai efe iddo, y bobloedd, y
cenhedloedd, a’r ieithoedd oll, oedd yn crynu ac yn ofni rhagddo ef: yr hwn a
fynnai a laddai, a’r hwn a fynnai a gadwai yn fyw; hefyd y neb a fynnai a
gyfodai, ar neb a fynnai a ostyngai.
5:19 And for
the majesty that he gave him, all people, nations, and languages, trembled and
feared before him: whom he would he slew; and whom he would he kept alive; and
whom he would he set up; and whom he would he put down.
5:20 Eithr pan ymgododd ei galon ef, a chaledu o’i ysbryd ef mewn
balchder, efe a ddisgynnwyd o orseddfa ei frenhiniaeth, a’i ogoniant a dynasant
oddi wrtho:
5:20 But when
his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was deposed from
his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:
5:21 Gyrrwyd ef hefyd oddi wrth feibion dynion, a gwnaethpwyd ei
galon fel bwystfil, a chyda’r asynnod gwylltion yr oedd ei drigfa: â gwellt y
porthasant ef fel eidion, a’i gorff a wlychwyd gan wlith y nefoedd, hyd oni
wybu mai y DUW goruchaf oedd . yn llywodraethu ym mrenhiniaeth dynion, ac yn
gosod arni y neb a fynno.
5:21 And he was
driven from the sons of men; and his heart was made like the beasts, and his
dwelling was with the wild asses: they fed him with grass like oxen, and his
body was wet with the dew of heaven; till he knew that the most high God ruled
in the kingdom of men, and that he appointeth over it whomsoever he will.
5:22 A thithau, Belsassar ei fab ef, ni ddarostyngaist dy galon, er
gwybod ohonot hyn oll;
5:22 And thou
his son, O Belshazzar, hast not humbled thine heart, though thou knewest all
this;
5:23 Eithr ymddyrchefaist yn erbyn Arglwydd y nefoedd, a llestri ei
dŷ ef a ddygasant ger dy fron di, a thithau a’th dywysogion, dy wragedd
a’th ordderchadon, a yfasoch win ynddynt; a thi a foliennaist dduwiau o arian,
ac o aur, o bres, haearn, pren, a maen, y rhai ni welant, ac ni chlywant, ac ni
wyddant ddim: ac nid anrhydeddaist y DUW y mae dy anadl di yn ei law, a’th holl
ffyrdd yn eiddo.
5:23 But hast
lifted up thyself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels
of his house before thee, and thou, and thy lords, thy wives, and thy
concubines, have drunk wine in them; and thou hast praised the gods of silver,
and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which see not, nor hear, nor know:
and the God in whose hand thy breath is, and whose are all thy ways, hast thou
not glorified:
5:24 Yna yr anfonwyd darn y llaw oddi ger ei fron ef, ac yr
ysgrifennwyd yr ysgrifen hon.
5:24 Then was
the part of the hand sent from him; and this writing was written.
5:25 A dyma yr
ysgrifen a ysgrifennwyd: MENE, MENE, TECEL, UFFARSIN.
5:25 And this
is the writing that was written, MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
5:26 Dyma ddehongliad y peth: MENE; DUW a rifodd dy
frenhiniaeth, ac a’i gorffennodd.
5:26 This is
the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God hath numbered thy kingdom, and
finished it.
5:27 TECEL; Ti a bwyswyd yn y cloriannau, ac a’th gaed yn
brin.
5:27 TEKEL;
Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
5:28 PERES: Rhannwyd dy frenhiniaeth a rhoddwyd hi i’r Mediaid
a’r Persiaid.
5:28 PERES; Thy
kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
5:29 Yna y gorchmynnodd Belsassar, a hwy a wisgasant Daniel â
phorffor, ac â chadwyn aur am ei wddf; a chyhoeddwyd amdano, y byddai efe yn
drydydd yn llywodraethu yn y frenhiniaeth.
5:29 Then
commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with scarlet, and put a chain of
gold about his neck, and made a proclamation concerning him, that he should be
the third ruler in the kingdom.
5:30 Y noson honno
y lladdwyd Belsassar brenin y Caldeaid.
5:30 In that
night was Belshazzar the king of the Chaldeans slain.
5:31 A Dareius y Mediad a gymerodd y frenhiniaeth, ac efe yn
ddwy flwydd a thrigain oed.
5:31 And Darius
the Median took the kingdom, being about threescore and two years old.

6:1 Gwelodd Dareius yn dda osod ar y deyrnas chwe ugain o
dywysogion, i fod ar yr holl deyrnas;
6:1 It pleased Darius
to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, which should be over the
whole kingdom;
6:2 ··Ac arnynt hwy yr oedd tri rhaglaw, y rhai yr oedd Daniel
yn bennaf ohonynt, i’r rhai y rhoddai y tywysogion gyfrif, fel na byddai y
brenin mewn colled.
6:2 And over
these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give
accounts unto them, and the king should have no damage.
6:3 Yna y Daniel hwn oedd yn rhagori ar y rhaglawiaid a’r tywysogion,
oherwydd bod ysbryd rhagorol ynddo ef: a’r brenin a feddyliodd ei osod ef ar yr
holl deyrnas.
6:3 Then this
Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent
spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.
6:4 Yna y rhaglawiaid a’r tywysogion oedd yn ceisio cael achlysur yn
erbyn Daniel o ran y frenhiniaeth: ond ni fedrent gael un achos na bai;
oherwydd ffyddlon oedd efe, fel na chaed ynddo nac amryfusedd na bai.
6:4 Then the
presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the
kingdom; but they could find none occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was
faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.
6:5 Yna y dywedodd y gwŷr hyn, Ni chawn yn erbyn y Daniel hwn
ddim achlysur, oni chawn beth o ran cyfraith ei DDUW yn ei erbyn ef.
6:5 Then said
these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find
it against him concerning the law of his God.
6:6 Yna y rhaglawiaid a’r tywysogion hyn a aethant at y
brenin, ac a ddywedasant wrtho fel hyn; Dareius frenin, bydd fyw byth.
6:6 Then these
presidents and princes assembled together to the king, and said thus unto him,
King Darius, live for ever.
6:7 Holl raglawiaid y deyrnas, y swyddogion, a’r tywysogion, y
cynghoriaid, a’r dugiaid, a ymgyngorasant am osod deddf frenhinol, a chadarnhau
gorchymyn, fod bwrw i ffau y llewod pwy bynnag a archai arch gan un DUW na dyn
dros ddeng niwrnod ar hugain, ond gennyt ti, O frenin.
6:7 All the
presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and
the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make
a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty
days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.
6:8 Yr awr hon, O frenin, sicrha y gorchymyn, a selia yr ysgrifen,
fel na newidier yn ôl cyfraith y Mediaid a’r Persiaid, yr hon ni newidir.
6:8 Now, O
king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it be not changed,
according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
6:9 Oherwydd hynny y seliodd y brenin Dareius yr ysgrifen a’r
gorchymyn.
6:9 Wherefore
king Darius signed the writing and the decree.
6:10 Yna Daniel, pan wybu selio yr ysgrifen, a aeth i’w dŷ, a’i ffenestri
yn agored yn ei ystafell tua Jerwsalem; tair gwaith yn y dydd y gostyngai efe
ar ei liniau, ac y gweddïai, ac y cyffesai o flaen ei DDUW, megis y gwnâi efe
cyn hynny.
6:10 Now when
Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his
windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees
three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did
aforetime.
6:11 Yna y gwŷr hyn a ddaethant ynghyd, ac a gawsant Daniel yn
gweddïo ac yn ymbil o flaen ei DDUW.
6:11 Then these
men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.
6:12 Yna y nesasant, ac y dywedasant o flaen y brenin am orchymyn y
brenin; Oni seliaist ti orchymyn, mai i ffau y llewod y bwrid pa ddyn bynnag a
ofynnai gan un DUW na dyn ddim dros ddeng niwrnod ar hugain, ond gennyt ti, O
frenin? Atebodd y brenin, a dywedodd, Y mae peth yn wir, yn ô1 cyfraith y Mediaid a’r Persiaid, yr
hon ni newidir.
6:12 Then they
came near, and spake before the king concerning the king’s decree; Hast thou
not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any God or man
within thirty days, save of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions?
The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the
Medes and Persians, which altereth not.
6:13 Yna yr atebasant ac y dywedasant o flaen y brenin, Y Daniel, yr
hwn sydd o feibion caethglud Jwda, ni wnaeth gyfrif ohonot ti, frenin, nac o’r
gorchymyn a seliaist, eithr tair gwaith. yn. y dydd y mae yn gweddïo ei weddi.
6:13 Then
answered they and said before the king, That Daniel, which is of the children
of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou
hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.
6:14 Yna y brenin, pan glybu y gair hwn, a aeth yn ddrwg iawn ganddo,
ac a roes ei fryd gyda Daniel ar ei waredu ef: ac a fu hyd fachludiad haul yn
ceisio ei achub ef.
6:14 Then the
king, when he heard these words, was sore displeased with himself, and set his
heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the going down of the sun
to deliver him.
6:15 Yna y gwŷr hynny a ddaethant ynghyd at y brenin, ac a
ddywedasant wrth y brenin, Gwybydd, frenin, mai cyfraith y Mediaid a’r Persiaid
yw, na newidier un gorchymyn na deddf a osodo y brenin.
6:15 Then these
men assembled unto the king, and said unto the king, Know, O king, that the law
of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king
establisheth may be changed.
6:16 Yna yr archodd y brenin, a hwy a ddygysant Daniel ac a’i
bwriasant i ffau y llewod. Yna y brenin a lefarodd ac a ddywedodd wrth Daniel,
Dy DDUW, yr hwn yr ydwyt yn ei wasanaethu yn wastad, efe a’th achub di.
6:16 Then the
king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions.
Now the king spake and said unto Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually,
he will deliver thee.
6:17 A dygwyd carreg ac a’i gosodwyd ar enau y ffau; a’r brenin a’i
seliodd hi â’i sêl ei hun, ac â sêl ei dywysogion, fel na newidid yr ewyllys am
Daniel.
6:17 And a
stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it
with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might
not be changed concerning Daniel.
6:18 Yna yr aeth y brenin i’w lys, ac a fu y noson honno heb fwyd: ac
ni adawodd ddwyn difyrrwch o’i flaen; ei gwsg hefyd a giliodd oddi wrtho.
6:18 Then the
king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments
of music brought before him: and his sleep went from him.
6:19 Yna y cododd y brenin yn fore iawn at y wawrddydd, ac a
aeth ar frys at ffau y llewod.
6:19 Then the
king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste unto the den of lions.
6:20 A phan nesaodd efe at y ffau, efe a lefodd ar Daniel â
llais trist. Llefarodd y brenin, a dywedodd wrth Daniel, Daniel, gwasanaethwr y
Duw byw, a all dy DDUW di, yr hwn yr wyt yn ei wasanaethu yn wastad, dy gadw di
rhag y llewod?
6:20 And when
he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel: and the king
spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom
thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?
6:21 Yna y dywedodd Daniel wrth y brenin, O frenin, bydd fyw
byth.
6:21 Then said
Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.
6:22 Fy Nuw a anfonodd ei angel, ac a gaeodd safnau y llewod, fel na
wnaethant i mi niwed: oherwydd puredd a gaed ynof ger ei fron ef; a hefyd ni
wneuthum niwed o’th flaen dithau, frenin.
6:22 My God
hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt
me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O
king, have I done no hurt.
6:23 Yna y brenin fu dda iawn ganddo o’i achos ef, ac a archodd
gyfodi Daniel allan o’r ffau. Yna y codwyd Daniel o’r ffau; ac ni chaed niwed
arno, oherwydd credu ohono yn ei DDUW.
6:23 Then was
the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up
out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt
was found upon him, because he believed in his God.
6:24 Yna y gorchmynnodd y brenin, a hwy a ddygasant y gwŷr hynny
a gyhuddasent Daniel, ac a’u bwriasant i ffau y llewod, hwy, a’u plant, a’u
gwragedd; ac ni ddaethant i waelod y ffau hyd oni orchfygodd y llewod hwynt, a
dryllio eu holl esgyrn.
6:24 And the
king commanded, and they brought those men which had accused Daniel, and they
cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the
lions had the mastery of them, and brake all their bones in pieces or ever they
came at the bottom of the den.
6:25 Yna yr ysgrifennodd y brenin Dareius at y bobloedd, at y
cenhedloedd, a’r ieithoedd oll, y rhai oedd yn trigo yn yr holl ddaear; Heddwch
a amlhaer i chwi.
6:25 Then king
Darius wrote unto all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the
earth; Peace be multiplied unto you.
6:26 Gennyf fi y gosodwyd cyfraith, ar fod trwy holl lywodraeth fy
nheyrnas, i bawb grynu ac ofni rhag DUW Daniel: oherwydd efe sydd DDUW byw, ac
yn parhau byth; a’i frenhiniaeth ef yw yr hon ni ddifethir, a’i lywodraeth fydd
hyd y diwedd.
6:26 I make a
decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the
God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom
that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even unto the end.
6:27 Y mae yn gwaredu ac yn achub, ac yn gwneuthur arwyddion a
rhyfeddodau yn y nefoedd ac ar y ddaear; yr hwn a waredodd Daniel o feddiant y
llewod.
6:27 He
delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and in
earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
6:28 A’r Daniel hwn a lwyddodd yn nheyrnasiad Dareius, ac yn nheyrnasiad
Cyrus y Persiad.
6:28 So this
Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

7:1 Yn y flwyddyn gyntaf i Belsassar brenin Babilon, y gwelodd
Daniel freuddwyd, a gweledigaethau ei ben ar ei wely. Yna efe a ysgrifennodd y
breuddywyd, ac a draethodd swm y geiriau.
7:1 In the
first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his
head upon his bed: then he wrote the dream, and told the sum of the matters.
7:2 Llefarodd Daniel, a dywedodd, Mi a welwn yn fy ngweledigaeth y
nos, ac wele bedwar gwynt y nefoedd yn ymryson ar y môr mawr.
7:2 Daniel
spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the
heaven strove upon the great sea.
7:3 A phedwar bwystfil mawr a ddaethant y i fyny o’r môr, yn
amryw y naill oddi wrth y llall.
7:3 And four
great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.
7:4 Y cyntaf oedd fel llew, ac iddo adenydd eryr: edrychais hyd oni
thynnwyd ei adenydd, a’i gyfodi oddi wrth y ddaear, a sefyll ohono ar ei draed
fel dyn, a rhoddi iddo galon dyn.
7:4 The first
was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were
plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a
man, and a man’s heart was given to it.
7:5 Ac wele anifail arall, yr ail, yn debyg i arth; ac efe a
ymgyfododd ar y naill ystlys, ac yr oedd tair asen yn ei safn ef rhwng ei
ddannedd: ac fel hyn y dywedent wrtho, Cyfod, bwyta gig lawer.
7:5 And behold
another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side,
and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said
thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
7:6 Wedi hyn yr edrychais, ac wele un a arall megis llewpard, ac iddo
bedair adain aderyn ar ei gefn: a phedwar pen oedd i’r bwystfil; a rhoddwyd
llywodraeth iddo.
7:6 After this
I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four
wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
7:7 Wedi hyn y gwelwn mewn gweledigaethau nos, ac wele bedwerydd
bwystfil, ofnadwy, ac erchyll, a chryf ragorol; ac iddo yr oedd dannedd mawrion
o haearn: yr oedd yn bwyta, ac yn dryllio, ac yn sathru y gweddill dan ei
draed: hefyd yr ydoedd efe yn amryw oddi wrth Y bwystfilod oll y rhai a fuasai
o’i flaen ef; ac yr oedd iddo ddeg o gyrn.
7:7 After this
I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible,
and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in
pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from
all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
7:8 Yr oeddwn yn ystyried y cyrn; ac wele, cyfododd corn bychan arall
yn eu mysg hwy, a thynnwyd o’r gwraidd dri o’r cyrn cyntaf o’i flaen ef: ac
wele lygaid fel llygaid dyn yn y corn hwnnw, a genau yn traethu mawrhydri.
7:8 I
considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn,
before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and,
behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great
things.
7:9 Edrychais hyd oni fwriwyd i lawr y gorseddfeydd, a’r Hen
ddihenydd a eisteddodd: ei wisg oedd cyn wynned â’r eira, a gwallt ei ben fel
gwlân pur; ei orseddfa yn fflam dân, a’i olwynion yn dân poeth.
7:9 I beheld
till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment
was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was
like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. fiery flame, and his

7:10 Afon danllyd oedd yn rhedeg ac yn dyfod allan oddi ger ei fron
ef: mil o filoedd a’i gwasanaethent, a myrdd fyrddiwn a safent ger ei fron: y
fam a eisteddodd, ac agorwyd y llyfrau.
7:10 A fiery
stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered
unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment
was set, and the books were opened.
7:11 Edrychais yna, o achos llais y geiriau mawrion a draethodd y
corn; ie, edrychais hyd oni laddwyd y bwystfil, a difetha ei gorff ef, a’i
roddi i’w losgi yn tân.
7:11 I beheld
then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld
even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning
flame.
7:12 A’r rhan arall o’r bwystfilod, eu llywodraeth a dducpwyd ymaith;
a rhoddwyd iddynt einioes dros ysbaid ac amser.
7:12 As
concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet
their lives were prolonged for a season and time.
7:13 Mi a welwn mewn gweledigaethau nos, ac wele, megis Mab y dyn
oedd yn dyfod gyda chymylau y nefoedd; ac at yr hen ddihenydd y daeth, a hwy
a’i dygasant ger ei fron ef.
7:13 I saw in
the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of
heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.
7:14 Ac efe a roddes iddo lywodraeth, a gogoniant, a brenhiniaeth,
fel y byddai i’r holl bobloedd, cenhedloedd, a ieithoedd ei wasanaethu ef: ei
lywodraeth sydd lywodraeth dragwyddol, yr hon nid â ymaith, a’i frenhiniaeth ni
ddifethir.
7:14 And there
was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and
languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which
shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
7:15 Myfi Daniel a ymofidiais yn fy ysbryd yng nghanol fy nghorff, a
gweledigaethau fy mhen a’m dychrynasant.
7:15 I Daniel
was grieved in my spirit in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head
troubled me.
7:16 Neseais at un o’r rhai a safent gerllaw, a cheisiais
ganddo y gwirionedd am hyn oll. Ac efe a ddywedodd i mi, ac a wnaeth i mi wybod
dehongliad y pethau.
7:16 I came
near unto one of them that stood by, and asked him the truth of all this. So he
told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.
7:17 Y bwystfilod mawrion hyn, y rhai sydd bedwar, ydynt bedwar
brenin, y rhai a gyfodant o’r ddaear.
7:17 These
great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the
earth.
7:18 Eithr sant y Goruchaf a dderbyniant y frenhiniaeth, ac a
feddiannant y frenhiniaeth hyd byth, a hyd byth bythoedd.
7:18 But the saints
of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even
for ever and ever.
7:19 Yna yr ewyllysiais wybod y gwirionedd am y pedwerydd
bwystfil, yr hwn oedd yn amrywio oddi wrthynt oll, yn yn ofnadwy iawn, a’i
ddannedd o haearn, a’i ewinedd o bres; yn bwyta, ac yn dryllio, ac yn sathru y
gweddill â’i draed:
7:19 Then I
would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the
others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass;
which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
7:20 Ac am y deg corn oedd ar ei ben ef, a’r llall yr hwn a
gyfodasai, ac y syrthiasai tri o’i flaen; sef y corn yr oedd llygaid iddo, a
genau yn traethu mawrhydri, a’r olwg arno oedd yn arwach na’i gyfeillion.
7:20 And of the
ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before
whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very
great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
7:21 Edrychais, a’r corn hwn a wnaeth ryfel ar y saint, ac a
fu drech na hwynt;
7:21 I beheld,
and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;
7:22 Hyd oni ddaeth yr Hen ddihenydd, a rhoddi barn i saint y
Goruchaf, a dyfod o’r amser y meddiannai y saint y frenhiniaeth.
7:22 Until the
Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High;
and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
7:23 Fel hyn y dywedodd efe; Y pedwerydd bwystfil fydd y bedwaredd
frenhiniaeth at y ddaear, yr hon a fydd amryw oddi wrth yr holl freniniaethau,
ac a ddifa yr holl ddaear, ac a’i sathr hi, ac a’i dryllia.
7:23 Thus he
said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be
diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it
down, and break it in pieces.
7:24 A’r deg corn o’r frenhiniaeth hon fydd deg brenin, y rhai a
gyfodant: ac un arall a gyfyd at eu hôl hwynt, ac efe a amrywia oddi wrth y
rhai cyntaf, ac a ddarostwng dri brenin.
7:24 And the
ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall
rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue
three kings.
7:25 Ac efe a draetha eiriau yn erbyn y Goruchaf, ac a ddifa saint y
Goruchaf, ac a feddwl newidio amseroedd a chyfreithau: a hwy a roddit yn ei law
ef, hyd amser ac amseroedd a rhan amser.
7:25 And he
shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of
the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into
his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
7:26 Yna yr eistedd y farn, a’i lywodraeth a ddygant, i’w difetha ac
i’w distrywio hyd y diwedd.
7:26 But the
judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to
destroy it unto the end.
7:27 At frenhiniaeth a’r llywodraeth, a mawredd y frenhiniaeth dan yr
holl nefoedd, a roddir i bobl saint y Goruchaf, yr hwn y mae ei frenhiniaeth yn
frenhiniaeth dragwyddol, a phob llywodraeth a wasanaethant ac a ufuddhant iddo.
7:27 And the
kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven,
shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is
an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.
7:28 Hyd yma y mae diwedd y peth. Fy meddyliau i Daniel a’m
dychrynodd yn ddirfawr, a’m gwedd a newidiodd ynof; eithr mi a gedwais y peth
yn fy nghalon.
7:28 Hitherto
is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me,
and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

8:1 Yn y drydedd flwyddyn o deyrnas Belsassar y brenin, yr
ymddangosodd i mi weledigaeth, sef i myfi Daniel, wedi yr hon a ymddangosasai i
mi ar y cyntaf.
8:1 In the
third year of the reign of king Belshazzar a vision appeared unto me, even unto
me Daniel, after that which appeared unto me at the first.
8:2 Gwelais hefyd mewn gweledigaeth, (a bu pan welais, mai yn Susan y
brenhinllys, yr hwn sydd o fewn talaith Elam, yr oeddwn i,) ie, gwelais mewn
gweledigaeth, ac yr oeddwn i wrth afon Ulai.
8:2 And I saw
in a vision; and it came to pass, when I saw, that I was at Shushan in the
palace, which is in the province of Elam; and I saw in a vision, and I was by
the river of Ulai.
8:3 Yna y cyfodais fy llygaid, ac a welais, ac wele ryw hwrdd yn
sefyll wrth yr afon, a deugorn iddo; a’r ddau gorn oedd uchel, ac un yn uwch
na’r llall; a’r uchaf a gyfodasai yn olaf.
8:3 Then I
lifted up mine eyes, and saw, and, behold, there stood before the river a ram
which had two horns: and the two horns were high; but one was higher than the
other, and the higher came up last.
8:4 Gwelwn yr hwrdd yn cornio tua’r gorllewin, tuar gogledd, a thua’r
deau, fel na safai un bwystfil o’i flaen ef; ac nid oedd a achubai o’i law ef;
ond efe a wnaeth yn ô1 ei ewyllys ei
hun, ac a aeth yn fawr.
8:4 I saw the
ram pushing westward, and northward, and southward; so that no beasts might
stand before him, neither was there any that could deliver out of his hand; but
he did according to his will, and became great.
8:5 Ac fel yr oeddwn yn ystyried, wele hefyd fwch geifr yn dyfod o’r
gorllewin, ar hyd wyneb yr holl ddaear, ac heb gyffwrdd â’r ddaear; ac i’r bwch
yr oedd corn hynod rhwng ei lygaid.
8:5 And as I
was considering, behold, an he goat came from the west on the face of the whole
earth, and touched not the ground: and the goat had a notable horn between his
eyes.
8:6 Ac efe a ddaeth hyd at yr hwrdd deugorn a welswn i yni
sefyll wrth yr afon, ac efe a redodd ato ef yn angerdd ei nerth.
8:6 And he came
to the ram that had two horns, which I had seen standing before the river, and
ran unto him in the fury of his power.
8:7 Gwelais ef hefyd yn dyfod hyd at yr hwrdd, ac efe a fu chwerw
wrtho, ac a drawodd yr hwrdd, ac a dorrodd ei ddau gorn ef, ac nid oedd nerth
yn yr hwrdd i sefyll o’i flaen ef, eithr efe a’i bwriodd ef i lawr, ac a’i
sathrodd ef; ac nid oedd a allai achub yr hwrdd o’i law ef.
8:7 And I saw him
come close unto the ram, and he was moved with choler against him, and smote
the ram, and brake his two horns: and there was no power in the ram to stand
before him, but he cast him down to the ground, and stamped upon him: and there
was none that could deliver the ram out of his hand.
8:8 Am hynny,y bwch geifr a aeth yn fawr iawn; ac wedi ei gryfhau,
torrodd y corn mawr: a chododd pedwar o rai hynod yn ei le ef, tua phedwar
gwynt y nefoedd.
8:8 Therefore
the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was
broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven.
8:9 Ac o un ohonynt y daeth allan gorn bychan, ac a dyfodd yn
rhagorol, tua’r deau, a thua’r dwyrain, a thua’r hyfryd wlad.
8:9 And out of
one of them came forth a little horn, which waxed exceeding great, toward the
south, and toward the east, and toward the pleasant land.
8:10 Aeth yn fawr hefyd hyd lu y nefoedd, a bwriodd i lawr rai o’r
llu, ac o’r ser, ac a’u sathrodd hwynt.
8:10 And it
waxed great, even to the host of heaven; and it cast down some of the host and
of the stars to the ground, and stamped upon them.
8:11 Ymfawrygodd hefyd hyd at dywysog y llu, a dygwyd ymaith yr
offrwm gwastodol oddi arno ef, a bwriwyd ymaith le ei gysegr ef.
8:11 Yea, he
magnified himself even to the prince of the host, and by him the daily
sacrifice was taken away, and the place of his sanctuary was cast down.
8:12 A rhoddwyd iddo lu yn erbyn yr offrwm beunyddiol oherwydd
camwedd, ac efe a fwriodd y gwirionedd i lawr; felly y gwnaeth, ac y llwyddodd.
8:12 And an
host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and
it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practiced, and prospered.
8:13 Yna y clywais ryw sant yn llefaru, a dywedodd rhyw sant arall
wrth y rhyw sant hwnnw oedd yn llefaru, Pa hyd y bydd y weledigaeth am yr
offrwm gwastadol, a chamwedd anrhaith i roddi y cysegr a’r llu yn sathrfa?
8:13 Then I
heard one saint speaking, and another saint said unto that certain saint which
spake, How long shall be the vision concerning the daily sacrifice, and the
transgression of desolation, to give both the sanctuary and the host to be
trodden under foot?
8:14 Ac efe a ddywedodd wrthyf, Hyd ddwy fil a thri chant o
ddiwrnodiau: yna y purir y cysegr.
8:14 And he
said unto me, Unto two thousand and three hundred days; then shall the
sanctuary be cleansed.
8:15 A phan welais i Daniel y weledigaeth, a cheisio ohonof y
deall, yna wele, safodd ger fy mron megis rhith gŵr.
8:15 And it
came to pass, when I, even I Daniel, had seen the vision, and sought for the
meaning, then, behold, there stood before me as the appearance of a man.
8:16 A chlywais lais dyn rhwng glannau Ulai, ac efe a lefodd
ac a ddywedodd, Gabriel, gwna i hwn ddeall y weledigaeth.
8:16 And I
heard a man’s voice between the banks of Ulai, which called, and said, Gabriel,
make this man to understand the vision.
8:17 Ac efe a ddaeth yn agos i’r lle y safwn; a phan ddaeth, mi a ddychrynais,
ac a syrthiais ar fy wyneb: ac efe a ddywedodd wrthyf, Deall, fab dyn; oherwydd
y weledigaeth fydd yn amser y diwedd.
8:17 So he came
near where I stood: and when he came, I was afraid, and fell upon my face: but
he said unto me, Understand, O son of man: for at the time of the end shall be
the vision.
8:18 A thra yr oedd efe yn llefaru wrthyf, syrthiais mewn trymgwsg i
lawr ar fy wyneb: ac efe a gyffyrddodd â mi, ac a’m cyfododd yn fy sefyll.
8:18 Now as he
was speaking with me, I was in a deep sleep on my face toward the ground: but
he touched me, and set me upright.
8:19 Dywedodd hefyd, Wele fi yn hysbysu i ti yr hyn a fydd yn
niwedd y dicter; canys, ar yr amser gosodedig y bydd y diwedd
8:19 And he
said, Behold, I will make thee know what shall be in the last end of the
indignation: for at the time appointed the end shall be.
8:20 Yr hwrdd deugorn a welaist, yw brenhinoedd Media a
Phersia.
8:20 The ram
which thou sawest having two horns are the kings of Media and Persia.
8:21 A’r bwch blewog yw brenin Groeg; a’r corn mawr, yr hwn sydd
rhwng ei lygaid ef, dyna y brenin cyntaf.
8:21 And the
rough goat is the king of Grecia: and the great horn that is between his eyes
is the first king.
8:22 Lle y torrwyd ef, ac y cyfododd pedwar yn ei le, pedair
brenhiniaeth a gyfodant o’r un genedl, ond nid un nerth ag ef.
8:22 Now that
being broken, whereas four stood up for it, four kingdoms shall stand up out of
the nation, but not in his power.
8:23 A thua diwedd eu brenhiniaeth hwynt, pan gyflawner y troseddwyr,
y cyfyd brenin wyneb-greulon, ac yn deall damhegion.
8:23 And in the
latter time of their kingdom, when the transgressors are come to the full, a
king of fierce countenance, and understanding dark sentences, shall stand up.
8:24 A’i nerth ef a gryfha, ond nid trwy ei nerth ei hun; ac efe a
ddinistria yn rhyfedd, ac a lwydda, ac a wna, ac a ddinistria y cedyrn, a’r
bobl sanctaidd.
8:24 And his
power shall be mighty, but not by his own power: and he shall destroy
wonderfully, and shall prosper, and practice, and shall destroy the mighty and
the holy people.
8:25 A thrwy ei gyfrwystra y ffynna ganddo dwyllo; ac efe a ymfawryga
yn ei galon, a thrwy heddwch y dinistria efe lawer: ac efe a saif yn erbyn
tywysog y tywysogion; ond efe a ddryllir heb law.
8:25 And
through his policy also he shall cause craft to prosper in his hand; and he
shall magnify himself in his heart, and by peace shall destroy many: he shall
also stand up against the Prince of princes; but he shall be broken without
hand.
8:26 A gweledigaeth yr hwyr a’r bore yr hon a draethwyd, sydd
wirionedd: selia dithau y weledigaeth, oherwydd dros ddyddiau lawer y bydd.
8:26 And the
vision of the evening and the morning which was told is true: wherefore shut thou
up the vision; for it shall be for many days.
8:27 Minnau Daniel a euthum yn llesg, ac a fûm glaf ennyd o ddyddiau
yna y cyfodais, ac y gwneuthum orchwyl y brenin, ac a synnais oherwydd y
weledigaeth, ond nid oedd neb yn ei deall.
8:27 And I
Daniel fainted, and was sick certain days; afterward I rose up, and did the
king’s business; and I was astonished at the vision, but none understood it.

9:1 Yn y flwyddyn gyntaf i Dareius mab Ahasferus o had y Mediaid, yr
hwn a wnaethid yn frenin ar deyrnas y Caldeaid,
9:1 In the
first year of Darius the son of Ahasuerus, of the seed of the Medes, which was
made king over the realm of the Chaldeans;
9:2 Yn y flwyddyn gyntaf o’i deyrnasiad ef, myfi Daniel a ddeellais
wrth lyfrau rifedi y blynyddoedd, am y rhai y daethai gair yr ARGLWYDD at
Jeremeia y proffwyd, y cyflawnai efe ddeng mlynedd a thrigain yn
anghyfanhedd-dra Jerwsalem.
9:2 In the
first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years,
whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would
accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
9:3 Yna y troais fy wyneb at yr Arglwydd DDUW, i geisio trwy weddi ac

9:3 And I set
my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting,
and sackcloth, and ashes:
9:4 A gweddïais ar yr ARGLWYDD fy NUW, a chyffesais, a
dywedais, Atolwg, Arglwydd DDUW mawr ac ofnadwy, ceidwad cyfamod a thrugaredd
i’r rhai a’i carant, ac i’r rhai a gadwant ei orchmynion;
9:4 And I
prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the
great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him,
and to them that keep his commandments;
9:5 Pechasom, a gwnaethom gamwedd, a buom anwir,
gwrthryfelasom hefyd, sef trwy gilio oddi wrth dy orchmynion, ac oddi wrth dy
farnedigaethau.
9:5 We have
sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled,
even by departing from thy precepts and from thy judgments:
9:6 Ni wrandawasom chwaith ar y proffwydi dy weision, y rhai a
lefarasant yn dy enw di wrth ein brenhinoedd, ein tywysogion, ein tadau, ac
wrth holl bobl y tir.
9:6 Neither
have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to
our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the people of the land.
9:7 I ti, ARGLWYDD, y perthyn cyfiawnder, ond i ni gywilydd wynebau,
megis heddiw; i wŷr Jwda, ac i drigolion Jerwsalem, ac i holl Israel, yn
agos ac ymhell, trwy yr holl wledydd lle y gyrraist hwynt, am. eu camwedd a
wnaethant i’th erbyn.
9:7 O Lord,
righteousness belongeth unto thee, but unto us confusion of faces, as at this
day; to the men of Judah, and to the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and unto all Israel,
that are near, and that are far off, through all the countries whither thou
hast driven them, because of their trespass that they have trespassed against
thee.
9:8 ARGLWYDD, y mae cywilydd wynebau i ni, i’n brenhinoedd, i’n
tywysogion, ac i’n todau, oherwydd i ni bechu i’th erbyn.
9:8 O Lord, to
us belongeth confusion of face, to our kings, to our princes, and to our
fathers, because we have sinned against thee.
9:9 Gan yr ARGLWYDD ein DUW y mae trugareddau a maddeuant, er
gwrthryfelu ohonom i’w erbyn.
9:9 To the Lord
our God belong mercies and forgivenesses, though we have rebelled against him;
9:10 Ni wrandawsom chwaith ar lais yr ARGLWYDD ein Duw, i
rodio yn ei gyfreithiau ef, y rhai a roddodd efe o’n y blaen ni trwy law ei
weision y proffwydi.
9:10 Neither
have we obeyed the voice of the LORD our God, to walk in his laws, which he set
before us by his servants the prophets.
9:11 Ie, holl Israel a droseddasant dy gyfraith di, sef trwy gilio
rhag gwrando ar dy lais di: am hynny y tywalltwyd arnom ni y felltith a’r llw a
ysgrifennwyd yng nghyfraith Moses gwasanaethwr DUW, am bechu ohonom yn ei erbyn
ef.
9:11 Yea, all
Israel have transgressed thy law, even by departing, that they might not obey
thy voice; therefore the curse is poured upon us, and the oath that is written
in the law of Moses the servant of God, because we have sinned against him.
9:12 Ac efe a gyflawnodd ei eiriau y rhai a lefarodd efe yn ein
herbyn ni, ac yn erbyn ein bamwyr y rhai a’n barnent, gan ddwyn arnom ni
ddialedd mawr; canys ni wnaethpwyd dan yr holl nefoedd megis y gwnaethpwyd ar
Jerusalem.
9:12 And he
hath confirmed his words, which he spake against us, and against our judges
that judged us, by bringing upon us a great evil: for under the whole heaven
hath not been done as hath been done upon Jerusalem.
9:13 Megis y mae yn ysgrifenedig yng nghyfraith Moses y daeth yr holl
ddrygfyd hyn arnom ni: eto nid ymbiliasom o flaen yr ARGLWYDD ein Duw, gan droi
oddi wrth ein hanwiredd, a chan ddeall dy wirionedd di.
9:13 As it is
written in the law of Moses, all this evil is come upon us: yet made we not our
prayer before the LORD our God, that we might turn from our iniquities, and
understand thy truth.
9:14 Am hynny y gwyliodd yr ARGLWYDD ar y dialedd, ac a’i dug arnom
ni; oherwydd cyfiawn yw yr ARGLWYDD ein Duw yn ei holl weithredoedd y mae yn eu
gwneuthur: canys ni wrandawsom ni ar ei lais ef.
9:14 Therefore
hath the LORD watched upon the evil, and brought it upon us: for the LORD our
God is righteous in all his works which he doeth: for we obeyed not his voice.
9:15 Eto yr awr hon, O ARGLWYDD ein DUW, yr hwn a ddygaist dy bobl
allan o wlad yr Aifft â llaw gref, ac a wnaethost i ti enw megis heddiw, nyni a
bechasom, ni a wnaethom anwiredd.
9:15 And now, O
Lord our God, that hast brought thy people forth out of the land of Egypt with
a mighty hand, and hast gotten thee renown, as at this day; we have sinned, we
have done wickedly.
9:16 O ARGLWYDD, yn ôl dy holl gyfiawnderau, atolwg, troer dy
lidiowgrwydd a’th ddicter oddi wrth dy ddinas Jerusalem, dy fynydd sanctaidd;
oherwydd am ein pechodau, ac am anwireddau ein tadau, y mae Jerusalem a’th bobl
yn waradwydd i bawb o’n hamgylch.
9:16 O Lord,
according to all thy righteousness, I beseech thee, let thine anger and thy
fury be turned away from thy city Jerusalem, thy holy mountain: because for our
sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and thy people are
become a reproach to all that are about us.
9:17 Ond yr awr hon gwrando, O ein DUW ni, ar weddi dy was, ac ar ei
ddeisyfiadau, a llewyrcha dy wyneb ar dy gysegr anrheithiedig, er mwyn yr
ARGLWYDD.
9:17 Now
therefore, O our God, hear the prayer of thy servant, and his supplications,
and cause thy face to shine upon thy sanctuary that is desolate, for the Lord’s
sake.
9:18 Gostwng dy glust, O fy NUW, a chlyw; agor dy lygaid, a gwêl ein
hanrhaith ni, a’r ddinas y gelwir dy enw di arni: oblegid nid oherwydd ein
cyfiawnderau ein hun yr ydym ni yn tywallt ein gweddïau ger dy fron, eithr
oherwydd dy aml drugareddau di.
9:18 O my God,
incline thine ear, and hear; open thine eyes, and behold our desolations, and
the city which is called by thy name: for we do not present our supplications
before thee for our righteousnesses, but for thy great mercies.
9:19 Clyw, ARGLWYDD; arbed, ARGLWYDD; ystyr, O ARGLWYDD, a gwna; nac
oeda, er dy fwyn dy hun, O fy Nuw: oherwydd dy enw di a alwyd ar y ddinas hon,
ac ar dy bobl.
9:19 O Lord,
hear; O Lord, forgive; O Lord, hearken and do; defer not, for thine own sake, O
my God: for thy city and thy people are called by thy name.
9:20 A mi eto yn llefaru, ac yn gweddïo, ac yn cyffesu fy
mhechod, a phechod fy mhobl Israel, ac yn tywallt fy ngweddi gerbron yr
ARGLWYDD fy Nuw dros fynydd sanctaidd fy Nuw;
9:20 And whiles
I was speaking, and praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people
Israel, and presenting my supplication before the LORD my God for the holy
mountain of my God;
9:21 Ie, a mi eto yn llefaru mewn gweddi, yna y gŵr
Gabriel, yr hwn a welswn mewn gweledigaeth yn y dechreuad, gan ehedeg yn fuan,
a goddodd â mi ynghylch pryd yr offrwm prynhawnol.
9:21 Yea,
whiles I was speaking in prayer, even the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the
vision at the beginning, being caused to fly swiftly, touched me about the time
of the evening oblation.
9:22 Ac efe a barodd i mi ddeall , ac a ymddiddanodd â mi, ac
a ddywedodd, Daniel, deuthum yn awr allan i beri i ti fedru deall.
9:22 And he
informed me, and talked with me, and said, O Daniel, I am now come forth to
give thee skill and understanding.
9:23 Yn nechrau dy weddïau yr aeth y gorchymyn allan, ac mi a
ddeuthum i’w fynegi i ti: canys annwyl ydwyt ti: ystyr dithau y peth, a deall y
weledigaeth.
9:23 At the
beginning of thy supplications the commandment came forth, and I am come to
show thee; for thou art greatly beloved: therefore understand the matter, and
consider the vision.
9:24 Deng wythnos a thrigain a derfynwyd ar dy bobl, ac ar dy ddinas
sanctaidd i ddibennu camwedd, ac i selio pechodau, ac i wneuthur cymod dros
anwiredd, ac i ddwyn cyfiawnder tragwyddol, ac i selio y weledigaeth a’r
broffwydoliaeth, ac i eneinio y sancteiddiolaf.
9:24 Seventy
weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the
transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for
iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision
and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
9:25 Gwybydd gan hynny a deall, y bydd o fynediad y gorchymyn allan
am adferu ac am adeiladu Jerwsalem, hyd y blaenor Meseia, saith wythnos, a dwy
wythnos a thrigain: yr heol a adeiledir drachefn, a’r mur, sef mewn amseroedd
blinion.
9:25 Know
therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to
restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven
weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the
wall, even in troublous times.
9:26 Ac wedi dwy wythnos a thrigain y lleddir y Meseia, ond nid o’i
achos ei hun: a phobl y tywysog yr hwn a ddaw a ddinistria y ddinas a’r cysegr;
a’i ddiwedd fydd trwy lifeiriant, a hyd diwedd y rhyfel y bydd dinistr
anrheithiol.
9:26 And after threescore
and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of
the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the
end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are
determined.
9:27 Ac efe a sicrha y cyfamod â llawer dros un wythnos: ac yn hanner
yr wythnos y gwna efe i’r aberth a’r bwyd-offrwm beidio; a thrwy luoedd ffiaidd
yr anrheithia efe hi, hyd oni thywallter y diben terfynedig ar yr
anrheithiedig.
9:27 And he
shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week
he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the
overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the
consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

10:1 Yn y drydedd flwyddyn i Cyrus brenin Persia, y datguddiwyd peth i
Daniel, yr hwn y gelwid ei enw Beltesassar; a’r peth oedd wir, ond yr amser
nodedig oedd hir; ac efe a ddeallodd y peth, ac a gafodd wybod y weledigaeth.
10:1 In the
third year of Cyrus king of Persia a thing was revealed unto Daniel, whose name
was called Belteshazzar; and the thing was true, but the time appointed was
long: and he understood the thing, and had understanding of the vision.
10:2 Yn y dyddiau hynny y galerais i Daniel dair wythnos o
ddyddiau.
10:2 In those
days I Daniel was mourning three full weeks.
10:3 Ni fwyteais fara blasus, ac ni ddaeth cig na gwin yn fy ngenau;
gan ymiro hefyd nid ymirais, nes cyflawni tair wythnos o ddyddiau.
10:3 I ate no
pleasant bread, neither came flesh nor wine in my mouth, neither did I anoint
myself at all, till three whole weeks were fulfilled.
10:4 Ac yn y pedwerydd dydd ar hugain o’r mis cyntaf, fel yr
oeddwn i wrth yml yr afon fawr, honno yw Hidecel;
10:4 And in the
four and twentieth day of the first month, as I was by the side of the great
river, which is Hiddekel;
10:5 Yna y cyfodais fy llygaid, ac yr edrychais, ac wele ryw
ŵr wedi ei wisgo â lliain, a’i lwynau wedi eu gwregysu ag aur coeth o Uffas:
10:5 Then I
lifted up mine eyes, and looked, and behold a certain man clothed in linen,
whose loins were girded with fine gold of Uphaz:
10:6 A’i gorff oedd fel maen beryl, a’i wyneb fel gwelediad
mellten, a’i lygaid fel lampau tân, a’i freichiau a’i draed fel lliw pres
gloyw, a sain ei eiriau fel tyrfa.
10:6 His body
also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his
eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished
brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude.
10:7 A mi Daniel yn unig a welais y weledigaeth; canys y dynion y rhai
oedd gyda mi ni welsant y weledigaeth; eithr syrthiodd arnynt ddychryn mawr,
fel y ffoesant i ymguddio.
10:7 And I Daniel
alone saw the vision: for the men that were with me saw not the vision; but a
great quaking fell upon them, so that they fled to hide themselves.
10:8 A mi a adawyd fy hunan, ac a welais y weledigaeth fawr hon, ac ni
thrigodd nerth ynof: canys fy ngwedd a drodd ynof yn llygredigaeth, ac nid
ateliais nerth.
10:8 Therefore I
was left alone, and saw this great vision, and there remained no strength in
me: for my comeliness was turned in me into corruption, and I retained no
strength.
10:9 Eto mi a glywais sain ei eiriau ef: a phan glywais sain ei eiriau
ef, yna yr oeddwn mewn trymgwsg at fy wyneb a’m hwyneb tua’r ddaear.
10:9 Yet heard I
the voice of his words: and when I heard the voice of his words, then was I in
a deep sleep on my face, and my face toward the ground.
10:10 Ac wele, llaw a gyffyrddodd â mi, ac a’m gosododd ar fy
ngliniau, ac ar gledr fy nwylo.
10:10 And,
behold, an hand touched me, which set me upon my knees and upon the palms of my
hands.
10:11 Ac efe a ddywedodd wrthyf, Daniel, ŵr annwyl, deall y
geiriau a lefaraf wrthyt, a saf yn dy sefyll: canys atat ti y’m hanfonwyd yr
awr hon. Ac wedi iddo ddywedyd y gair hwn, sefais gan grynu.
10:11 And he
said unto me, O Daniel, a man greatly beloved, understand the words that I
speak unto thee, and stand upright: for unto thee am I now sent. And when he
had spoken this word unto me, I stood trembling.
10:12 Yna efe a ddywedodd wrthyf, Nac ofna, Daniel: oherwydd er y dydd
cynt y rhoddaist dy galon i ddeall, ac i ymgystuddio gerbron dy DDUW, y
gwrandawyd dy eiriau; ac oherwydd dy eiriau di y deuthum i.
10:12 Then said
he unto me, Fear not, Daniel: for from the first day that thou didst set thine
heart to understand, and to chasten thyself before thy God, thy words were
heard, and I am come for thy words.
10:13 Ond tywysog teyrnas Persia a safodd yn fy erbyn un diwrnod ar
hugain: ond wele Michael, un o’r tywysogion pennaf a ddaeth i’m cynorthwyo; a
mi a arhosais yno gyda brenhinoedd Persia.
10:13 But the
prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me one and twenty days: but, lo,
Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me; and I remained there with
the kings of Persia.
10:14 A mi a ddeuthuin i beri i ti ddeall yr hyn a ddigwydd i’th bobl
yn y dyddiau diwethaf: oherwydd y mae y weledigaeth eto dros ddyddiau lawer.
10:14 Now I am
come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days:
for yet the vision is for many days.
10:15 Ac wedi iddo lefaru wrthyf y geiriau hyn, gosodais fy wyneb
tua’r ddaear, ac a euthum yn fud.
10:15 And when
he had spoken such words unto me, I set my face toward the ground, and I became
dumb.
10:16 Ac wele, tebyg i ddyn a gyffyrddodd â’m gwefusau: yna yr agorais
fy safn, ac y lleferais, ac y dywedais wrth yr hwn oedd yn sefyll ar fy nghyfer,
O fy arglwydd, fy ngofidiau a droesant arnaf gan weledigaeth, ac nid ateliais
nerth.
10:16 And,
behold, one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips: then I
opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord,
by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength.
10:17 A pha fodd y dichon gwasanaethwr fy arglwydd yma lefaru wrth fy
arglwydd yma? a minnau yna ni safodd nerth ynof, ac nid arhodd ffun ynof.
10:17 For how can
the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? for as for me, straightway
there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.
10:18 Yna y cyffyrddodd eilwaith â mi fel dull dyn, ac a’m
cryfhaodd i,
10:18 Then there
came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened
me,
10:19 Ac a ddywedodd, Nac ofna, ŵr annwyl; heddwch i ti,
ymnertha, ie, ymnertha. A phan lefarasai efe wrthyf, ymnerthais, a dywedais,
Llefared fy arglwydd; oherwydd cryfheaist fi.
10:19 And said,
O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong.
And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord
speak; for thou hast strengthened me.
10:20 Ac efe a ddywedodd, a wyddost ti paham y deuthum atat? ac yn awr
dychwelaf i ryfela â thywysog Persia: ac wedi i mi fyned allan, wele, tywysog
tir Groeg a ddaw.
10:20 Then said
he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? and now will I return to fight
with the prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia
shall come.
10:21 Eithr mynegaf i ti yr hyn a hysbyswyd yn ysgrythur y gwirionedd;
ac nid oes un yn ymegnïo gyda mi yn hyn, ond Michael eich tywysog chwi.
10:21 But I will
show thee that which is noted in the scripture of truth: and there is none that
holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince.

11:1 Ac yn y flwyddyn gyntaf i Dareius y Mediad, y sefais i i’w
gryfhau ac i’w nerthu ef.
11:1 Also I in
the first year of Darius the Mede, even I, stood to confirm and to strengthen
him.
11:2 Ac yr awr hon y gwirionedd a fynegaf i ti; Wele, tri brenin eto a
safant o fewn Persia, a’r pedwerydd a fydd gyfoethocach na hwynt oll: ac fel yr
ymgadarnhao efe yn ei gyfoeth, y cyfyd efe bawb yn erbyn teyrnas Groeg.
11:2 And now
will I show thee the truth. Behold, there shall stand up yet three kings in
Persia; and the fourth shall be far richer than they all: and by his strength
through his riches he shall stir up all against the realm of Grecia.
11:3 A brenin cadarn a gyfyd, ac a lywodraetha â llywodraeth
fawr, ac a wna fel y mynno.
11:3 And a
mighty king shall stand up, that shall rule with great dominion, and do
according to his will.
11:4 A phan safo efe, dryllir ei deyrnas, ac a’i rhennir tua phedwar
gwynt y nefoedd; ac nid i’w hiliogaeth ef, nac fel ei lywodraeth a
lywodraethodd efe: oherwydd ei frenhiniaeth ef a ddiwreiddir i eraill heblaw y
rhai hynny.
11:4 And when he
shall stand up, his kingdom shall be broken, and shall be divided toward the four
winds of heaven; and not to his posterity, nor according to his dominion which
he ruled: for his kingdom shall be plucked up, even for others beside those.
11:5 Yna y cryfha brenin y deau, ac un o’i dywysogion: ac efe a gryfha
uwch ei law ef, ac a lywodraetha: llywodraeth fawr fydd ei lywodraeth ef.
11:5 And the
king of the south shall be strong, and one of his princes; and he shall be
strong above him, and have dominion; his dominion shall be a great dominion.
11:6 Ac yn niwedd blynyddoedd yr ymgysylltant; canys merch brenin y
deau a ddaw at frenin y gogledd i wneuthur cymod; ond ni cheidw hi nerth y
braich; ac ni saif yntau, na’i fraich: eithr rhoddir hi i fyny, a’r rhai a’i
dygasant hi, a’r hwn a’i cenhedlodd hi, a’i chymhorthwr, yn yr amseroedd hyn.
11:6 And in the
end of years they shall join themselves together; for the king’s daughter of
the south shall come to the king of the north to make an agreement: but she
shall not retain the power of the arm; neither shall he stand, nor his arm: but
she shall be given up, and they that brought her, and he that begat her, and he
that strengthened her in these times.
11:7 Eithr yn ei le ef y saif un allan o flaguryn ei gwraidd
hi, yr hwn a ddaw â llu, ac a â i amddiffynfa brenin y gogledd, ac a wna yn eu
herbyn hwy, ac a orchfyga;
11:7 But out of
a branch of her roots shall one stand up in his estate, which shall come with
an army, and shall enter into the fortress of the king of the north, and shall
deal against them, and shall prevail:
11:8 Ac a ddwg hefyd i gaethiwed i’r Aifft, eu duwiau hwynt,
a’u tywysogion, a’u dodrefn annwyl o arian ac aur; ac efe a bery fwy o
flynyddoedd na brenin y gogledd.
11:8 And shall
also carry captives into Egypt their gods, with their princes, and with their
precious vessels of silver and of gold; and he shall continue more years than
the king of the north.
11:9 A brenin y deau a ddaw i’w deyrnas, ac a ddychwel i’w dir
ei hun.
11:9 So the king
of the south shall come into his kingdom, and shall return into his own land.
11:10 A’i feibion a gyffroir, ac a gasglant dyrfa o luoedd
mawrion: a chan ddyfod y daw un, ac a lifeiria, ac a â trosodd: yna efe a
ddychwel, ac a gyffroir hyd ei amddiffynfa ef.
11:10 But his
sons shall be stirred up, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces: and
one shall certainly come, and overflow, and pass through: then shall he return,
and be stirred up, even to his fortress.
11:11 Yna y cyffry brenin y deau, ac yr â allan, ac a ymladd ag ef,
sef â brenin y gogledd: ac efe a gyfyd dyrfa fawr; ond y dyrfa a roddir i’w law
ef.
11:11 And the
king of the south shall be moved with choler, and shall come forth and fight
with him, even with the king of the north: and he shall set forth a great
multitude; but the multitude shall be given into his hand.
11:12 Pan gymerer ymaith y dyrfa, yr ymddyrchafa ei galon, ac efe a
gwympa fyrddiwn; er hynny ni bydd efe gryf.
11:12 And when
he hath taken away the multitude, his heart shall be lifted up; and he shall
cast down many ten thousands: but he shall not be strengthened by it.
11:13 Canys brenin y gogledd a ddychwel, ac a gyfyd dyrfa fwy na’r
gyntaf, ac ymhen ennyd o flynyddoedd, gan ddyfod y daw â llu mawr, ac â
chyfoeth mawr.
11:13 For the king
of the north shall return, and shall set forth a multitude greater than the
former, and shall certainly come after certain years with a great army and with
much riches.
11:14 Ac yn yr amseroedd hynny llawer a safant yn erbyn brenin y deau;
a’r ysbeilwyr o’th bobl a ymddyrchafant i sicrhau y weledigaeth; ond hwy a
syrthiant.
11:14 And in
those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south: also the
robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they
shall fall.
11:15 Yna y daw brenin y gogledd, ac a fwrw glawdd, ac a ennill y
dinasoedd caerog, ond breichiau y deau ni wrthsafant, na’i bobl ddewisol ef; ac
ni bydd nerth i sefyll.
11:15 So the
king of the north shall come, and cast up a mount, and take the most fenced
cities: and the arms of the south shall not withstand, neither his chosen
people, neither shall there be any strength to withstand.
11:16 A’r hwn a ddaw yn ei erbyn ef a wna fel y mynno, ac ni bydd a
safo o’i flaen; ac efe a saif yn y wlad hyfryd, a thrwy ei law ef y difethir
hi.
11:16 But he
that cometh against him shall do according to his own will, and none shall
stand before him: and he shall stand in the glorious land, which by his hand
shall be consumed.
11:17 Ac efe a esyd ei wyncb ar fyned â chryfder, ei holl deyrnas, a
rhai uniawn gydag ef; fel hyn y gwna: ac efe a rydd iddo ferch gwragedd, gan ei
llygru hi; ond ni saif hi ar ei du ef, ac ni bydd hi gydag ef.
11:17 He shall
also set his face to enter with the strength of his whole kingdom, and upright
ones with him; thus shall he do: and he shall give him the daughter of women,
corrupting her: but she shall not stand on his side, neither be for him.
11:18 Yna y try efe ei wyneb at yr ynysoedd, ac a ennill lawer; ond
pennaeth a bair i’w warth ef beidio, er ei fwyn ei hun, heb warth iddo ei hun:
efe a’i detry arno ef.
11:18 After this
shall he turn his face unto the isles, and shall take many: but a prince for
his own behalf shall cause the reproach offered by him to cease; without his
own reproach he shall cause it to turn upon him.
11:19 Ac efe a dry ei wyneb at amddiffynfeydd ei dir ei hun:
ond efe a dramgwdda, ac a syrth, ac nis ceir ef.
11:19 Then he
shall turn his face toward the fort of his own land: but he shall stumble and
fall, and not be found.
11:20 Ac yn ei le ef y saif un a gyfyd drethau yng ngogoniant y
deyrnas; ond o fewn ychydig ddyddiau y distrywir ef; ac nid mewn dig, nac mewn
rhyfel.
11:20 Then shall
stand up in his estate a raiser of taxes in the glory of the kingdom: but
within few days he shall be destroyed, neither in anger, nor in battle.
11:21 Ac yn ei le yntau y saif un dirmygus, ac ni roddant iddo
ogoniant y deyrnas: eithr efe a ddaw i mewn yn heddychol, ac a ymeifl yn y
frenhiniaeth trwy weniaith.
11:21 And in his
estate shall stand up a vile person, to whom they shall not give the honour of
the kingdom: but he shall come in peaceably, and obtain the kingdom by
flatteries.
11:22 Ac â breichiau llifeiriant y llifir trostynt o’i flaen ef, ac y
dryllir hwynt, a thywysog y cyfamod hefyd.
11:22 And with
the arms of a flood shall they be overflown from before him, and shall be
broken; yea, also the prince of the covenant.
11:23 Ac wedi ymgyfeillach ag ef, y gwna efe dwyll: canys efe a ddaw i
fyny, ac a ymgryfha ag ychydig bobl.
11:23 And after
the league made with him he shall work deceitfully: for he shall come up, and
shall become strong with a small people.
11:24 I’r dalaith heddychol a bras y daw efe, ac a wna yr hyn ni
wnaeth ei dadau, na thadau ei dadau: ysglyfaeth, ac ysbail, a golud, a daena
efe yn eu mysg: ac ar gestyll y bwriada efe ei fwriadau, sef dros amser.
11:24 He shall
enter peaceably even upon the fattest places of the province; and he shall do
that which his fathers have not done, nor his fathers’ fathers; he shall
scatter among them the prey, and spoil, and riches: yea, and he shall forecast
his devices against the strong holds, even for a time.
11:25 Ac efe a gyfyd ei nerth a’i erbyn brenin y deau â llu mawr: a
brenin y deau a ymesyd i ryfel â llu mawr a chryf iawn; ond ni saif efe: canys
bwriadant fwriadau yn ei erbyn ef.
11:25 And he
shall stir up his power and his courage against the king of the south with a
great army; and the king of the south shall be stirred up to battle with a very
great and mighty army; but he shall not stand: for they shall forecast devices
against him.
11:26 Y rhai a fwytânt o’i fwyd ef a’i difethant ef, a’i lu ef
a lifeiria; a llawer a syrth yn lladdedig.
11:26 Yea, they
that feed of the portion of his meat shall destroy him, and his army shall
overflow: and many shall fall down slain.
11:27 A chalon y ddau frenin hyn fydd ar wneuthur drwg, ac ar un bwrdd
y traethant gelwydd; ond ni thycia: canys eto y bydd y diwedd ar yr amser
nodedig.
11:27 And both
these kings’ hearts shall be to do mischief, and they shall speak lies at one
table; but it shall not prosper: for yet the end shall be at the time
appointed.
11:28 Ac efe a ddychwel i’w dir ei hun â chyfoeth mawr; a’i galon fydd
yn erbyn y cyfamod sanctaidd: felly y gwna efe, ac y dychwel i’w wlad.
11:28 Then shall
he return into his land with great riches; and his heart shall be against the
holy covenant; and he shall do exploits, and return to his own land.
11:29 Ar amser nodedig y dychwel, ac y daw tua’r deau; ac ni bydd fel
y daith gyntaf, neu fel yr olaf.
11:29 At the
time appointed he shall return, and come toward the south; but it shall not be
as the former, or as the latter.
11:30 Canys llongau Chittim a ddeuant yn ei erbyn: ef ; am hynny yr
ymofidia, ac y dychwel, ac y digia yn erbyn y cyfamod sanctaidd: felly y gwna
efe, ac y dychwel; ac efe a ymgynghora â’r rhai a adawant y cyfamod saictaidd.
11:30 For the
ships of Chittim shall come against him: therefore he shall be grieved, and
return, and have indignation against the holy covenant: so shall he do; he
shall even return, and have intelligence with them that forsake the holy
covenant.
11:31 Breichiau hefyd a safant ar ei du ef, ac a halogant gysegr yr
amddiffynfa, ac a ddygant ymaith y gwastadol aberth, ac a osodant yno y
ffieidd-dra anrheithiol.
11:31 And arms
shall stand on his part, and they shall pollute the sanctuary of strength, and
shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that
maketh desolate.
11:32 A throseddwyr y cyfamod a lygra efe trwy weniaith: eithr
y bobl a adwaenant eu DUW, a fyddant gryfion, ac a ffynnant.
11:32 And such
as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people
that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
11:33 A’r rhai synhwyrol ymysg y bobl a ddysgant lawer; eto syrthiant
trwy y cleddyf, a thrwy dân, trwy gaethiwed, a thrwy ysbail, ddyddiau lawer.
11:33 And they
that understand among the people shall instruct many: yet they shall fall by
the sword, and by flame, by captivity, and by spoil, many days.
11:34 A phan syrthiant, â chymorth bychan y cymhorthir hwynt:
eithr llawer a lŷn wrthynt hwy trwy weniaith.
11:34 Now when
they shall fall, they shall be holpen with a little help: but many shall cleave
to them with flatteries.
11:35 A rhai o’r deallgar a syrthiant i’w puro, ac i’w glanhau, ac i’w
cannu, hyd amser y diwedd: canys y mae eto dros amser nodedig.
11:35 And some
of them of understanding shall fall, to try them, and to purge, and to make
them white, even to the time of the end: because it is yet for a time
appointed.
11:36 A’r brenin a wna wrth ei ewyllys ei hun, ac a ymddyrcha, ac a
ymfawryga uwchlaw pob duw; ac yn erbyn Duw y duwiau y traetha efe bethau
rhyfedd, ac a lwydda nes diweddu y dicter; canys yr hyn a ordeiniwyd, a fydd.
11:36 And the
king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify
himself above every god, and shall speak marvellous things against the God of
gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is
determined shall be done.
11:37 Nid ystyria efe Dduw ei dadau, na serch ar wragedd, ie, nid
ystyria un duw: canys goruwch pawb yr ymfawryga.
11:37 Neither
shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any
god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
11:38 Ac efe a anrhydedda DDUW y nerthoedd yn ei le ef: ie, duw yr hwn
nid adwaenai ei dadau a ogonedda efe ag aur ac ag arian, ac â meini gwerthfawr,
ac â phethau dymunol.
11:38 But in his
estate shall he honour the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not
shall he honour with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant
things.
11:39 Fel hyn y gwna efe yn yr amddiffynfeydd cryfaf gyda duw dieithr,
yr hwu a gydnebydd efe, ac a chwanega ei ogoniant: ac a wna iddynt lywodraethu
ar lawer, ac a ranna y tir am werth.
11:39 Thus shall
he do in the most strong holds with a strange god, whom he shall acknowledge
and increase with glory: and he shall cause them to rule over many, and shall
divide the land for gain.
11:40 Ac yn amser y diwedd yr ymgornia brenin y deau ag ef, a brenin y
gogledd a ddaw fel corwynt yn ei erbyn ef, â cherbydau, ac â marchogion, ac â
llongau lawer; ac efe a ddaw i’r tiroedd, ac a lifa, ac a â trosodd.
11:40 And at the
time of the end shall the king of the south push at him: and the king of the
north shall come against him like a whirlwind, with chariots, and with
horsemen, and with many ships; and he shall enter into the countries, and shall
overflow and pass over.
11:41 Ac efe a ddaw i’r hyfryd wlad, a llawer o wledydd a
syrthiant: ond y rhai hyn a ddihangant o’i law ef, Edom, a Moab, a phennaf
meibion Animon.
11:41 He shall
enter also into the glorious land, and many countries shall be overthrown: but
these shall escape out of his hand, even Edom, and Moab, and the chief of the
children of Ammon.
11:42 Ac efe a estyn ei law ar y gwledydd; a gwlad yr Aifft ni bydd
dihangol.
11:42 He shall stretch
forth his hand also upon the countries: and the land of Egypt shall not escape.
11:43 Eithr efe a lywodraetha ar drysorau aur ac arian, ac ar holl
annwyl bethau yr Aifft: y Libyaid hefyd a’r Ethiopiaid fyddant ar ei ôl ef.
11:43 But he
shall have power over the treasures of gold and of silver, and over all the
precious things of Egypt: and the Libyans and the Ethiopians shall be at his
steps.
11:44 Eithr chwedlau o’r dwyrain ac o’r glgledd a’i trallodant ef: ac
efe a â allan mewn llid mawr i ddifetha, ac i ddifrodi llawer.
11:44 But
tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he
shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many.
11:45 Ac efe a esyd bebyll ei lys rhwng Y y moroedd ar yr hyfryd fynydd
sanctaidd: eto efe a ddaw hyd ei derfyn, ac ni bydd cynorthwywr iddo.
11:45 And he
shall plant the tabernacles of his palace between the seas in the glorious holy
mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and none shall help him.
PENNOD 12
12:1 Ac yn yr amser hwnnw y saif Michael y twysog mawr, yr hwn sydd yn
sefyll dros feibion dy bobl: yna y bydd amser blinder, y cyfryw ni bu er pan yw
cenedl hyd yr amser hwnnw: ac yn yr amser hwnnw y gwaredir dy holl bobl, y rhai
a gaffer yn ysgrifenedig yn y llyfr.
12:1 And at that
time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children
of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since
there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be
delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.
12:2 A llawer o’r rhai sydd yn cysgu yn llwch y ddaear a
ddeffroant, rhai i fywyd tragwyddol, a rhai i warth a dirmyg tragwyddol.
12:2 And many of
them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life,
and some to shame and everlasting contempt.
12:3 A’r doethion a ddisgleiriant fel disgleirdeb y ffurfafen;
a’r rhai a droant lawer i gyfiawnder, a fyddant fel y sêr byth yn dragywydd.
12:3 And they
that be wise shall shine as the brightness of the firmament; and they that turn
many to righteousness as the stars for ever and ever.
12:4 Tithau, Daniel, cae ar y geiriau, a selia y llyfr hyd
amser y diwedd: ac a a gynweiriant, a gwybodaeth a amlheir.
12:4 But thou, O
Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many
shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased.
12:5 Yna myfi Daniel a edrychais, ac wele ddau eraill yn sefyll, un o’r
tu yma ar fin yr afon, ac un arall o’r tu arall ar fin yr afon.
12:5 Then I
Daniel looked, and, behold, there stood other two, the one on this side of the
bank of the river, and the other on that side of the bank of the river.
12:6 Ac un a ddywedodd wrth yr wisgasid â lliain, yr hwn ydoedd
ar ddyfroedd yr afon, Pa hyd fydd hyd diwedd y rhyfeddodau hyn?
12:6 And one
said to the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, How
long shall it be to the end of these wonders?
12:7 Clywais hefyd y gŵr, a wisgasid â lliain, yr hwn
ydoedd ar ddyfroedd yr afon, pan ddyrchafodd efe ei law ddeau a’i aswy tua’r
nefoedd, ac y tyngodd i’r hwn sydd yn byw yn dragywydd, y bydd dros amser,
amserau, a hanner: ac wedi darfod gwasgaru nerth y bobl sanctaidd, y gorffennir
hyn oll.
12:7 And I heard
the man clothed in linen, which was upon the waters of the river, when he held
up his right hand and his left hand unto heaven, and sware by him that liveth
for ever that it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall
have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things
shall be finished.
12:8 Yna y clywais, ond ni ddeellais: eithr dywedais, O fy
arglwydd, beth fydd diwedd y pethau hyn?
12:8 And I
heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of
these things?
12:9 Ac efe a ddywedodd, Dos, Daniel: canys caewyd a seliwyd y
geiriau hyd amser y diwedd.
12:9 And he
said, Go thy way, Daniel: for the words are closed up and sealed till the time
of the end.
12:10 Llawer a burir, ac a gennir, ac a brofir; eithr y rhai drygionus
a wnânt ddrygioni: ac ni ddeall yr un o’r rhai drygionus; ond y rhai doethion a
ddeallant.
12:10 Many shall
be purified, and made white, and tried; but the wicked shall do wickedly: and
none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.
12:11 Ac o’r amser y tynner ymaith y gwastadol: aberth, ac y gosoder i
fyny y ffieidd-dra anrheithiol, y bydd mil dau cant a deg a phedwar ugain o
ddyddiau.
12:11 And from
the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that
maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.
12:12 Gwyn ei fyd a ddisgwylio, ac a ddêl hyd y mil tri chant a
phymtheg ar hugain o ddyddiau.
12:12 Blessed is
he that waiteth, and cometh to the thousand three hundred and five and thirty
days.
12:13 Dos dithau hyd y diwedd: canys gorffwysi, a sefi yn dy ran yn
niwedd y dyddiau.
12:13 But go
thou thy way till the end be: for thou shalt rest, and stand in thy lot at the
end of the days.
