Based on "The History of the Welsh in Minnesota, Foreston and Lime Springs, Iowa, gathered by the Old Settlers. Edited by the Reverends Thomas E. Hughes and David Edwards, and Messrs. Hugh G. Roberts and Thomas Hughes. 1895".

After spending many hours looking on the net for an interactive quiz format, and subscribing to websites and downloading freeware versions which didn't work (and so getting my e-mail address added to junk mail lists all over the world) I've written a non-interactive quiz. (However I later came across the excellent free Kelly's Multiple-Choice HTML Quiz Generator - http://www.aitech.ac.jp/~iteslj/quizzes/, but by that time I'd already used this format). There are twelve questions; after this section is the answer section, with the answers in red letters.

They worked among the Indians for seven years probably in the belief that they were 'civilizing' them and 'making Chrisitians out of them'. In fact they were destroying their identity and their pride as a people, and so played a vital rôle in the solution of the 'Indian problem'.
