GWEDDI MANASSES BRENIN JWDA, PAN OEDDID YN EI DDAL EF YN GARCHAROR
YN BABILON
(= the prayer of Manassheh, king of Judah, when he was being held prisoner
in Babylon)
O Argwlydd, hollalluog Dduw ein tadau,
Abraham, Isaac, a Jacob, a'u cyfiawn hiliogaeth hwynt:
O Lord, Almighty God of our fathers,
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and of their righteous seed;
yr hwn a wnaethost nefoedd a daear, a'u
gwychder oll:
who hast made heaven and earth, with all the
ornament thereof;
yr hwn a rwymaist y môr â gair dy orchymyn;
who hast bound the sea by the word of thy
commandment;
yr hwn a gaeaist y dyfnder, ac a'i
seliaist â'th enw ofnadwy a gogoneddus:
who hast shut up the deep, and sealed it by
thy terrible and glorious name;
yr hwn y mae pob peth yn ei ofni, ac yn
crynu rhag wyneb dy nerth:
whom all men fear, and tremble before thy
power;
oblegid ni ellir aros mawredd dy
ogoniant, na dioddef dicter dy fygwth yn erbyn pechaduriaid.
for the majesty of thy glory cannot be
borne, and thine angry threatening toward sinners is importable:
Eithr trugaredd dy addewid di sydd
anfeidrol ac anchwiliadwy:
but thy merciful promise is unmeasurable and
unsearchable;
oblegid tydi sydd Arglwydd goruchaf,
daionus, ymarhous, mawr ei drugaredd hefyd, ac edifeiriol am ddrwg dyn.
for thou art the most high Lord, of great
compassion, longsuffering, very merciful, and repentest of the evils of men.
Tydi, O Arglwydd, yn ôl amldra dy
ddaioni, a addewaist edifeirwch a maddeuant i'r rhai a bechasant i'th erbyn, ac
yn amldra dy dosturiaeth a ordeiniaist edifeirwch i bechaduriaid er
iachawdwriaeth.
Thou, O Lord, according to thy great
goodness hast promised repentance and forgiveness to them that have sinned
against thee: and of thine infinite mercies hast appointed repentance unto
sinners, that they may be saved.
Am hynny tydi, O Arglwydd Dduw y rhai
cyfiawn, ni osodaist edifeirwch i'r rhai cyfiawn, i Abraham, Isaac, a Jacob, y
rhai ni phechasant i'th erbyn,
Thou therefore, O Lord, that art the God of
the just, hast not appointed repentance to the just, as to Abraham, and Isaac,
and Jacob, which have not sinned against thee;
ond ti a osodaist edifeirwch er fy mwyn
i bechadur.
but thou hast appointed repentance unto me
that am a sinner:
Mi a bechais yn fwy na rhifedi tywod y
môr;
for I have sinned above the number of the
sands of the sea.
fy anwireddau a amlhasant, O Arglwydd,
fy anwireddau a amlhasant, ac nid wyf fi deilwng i edrych, ac i weled uchder y
nefoedd, oherwydd amldra fy anwireddau.
My transgressions, O Lord, are multiplied:
my transgressions are multiplied, and I am not worthy to behold and see the
height of heaven for the multitude of mine iniquities.
Mi a grymais i lawr gan rwymau haearn,
fel na allaf godi fy mhen; ni allaf chwaith gymryd fy anadl, am gyffroi ohonof
dy lid di, a gwneuthur yr hyn sy ddrwg yn dy olwg: dy ewyllys nis gwneuthum,
a'th orchmynion nis cedwais;
I am bowed down with many iron bands, that I
cannot life up mine head, neither have any release: for I have provoked thy
wrath, and done evil before thee: I did not thy will, neither kept I thy
commandments:
gosodais i fyny ffieidd-dra, ac
amlheais gamweddau.
I have set up abominations, and have
multiplied offences.
Ac yr awr hon yr ydwyf fi yn plygu glin
fy nghalon, gan ddymuno daioni gennyt:
Now therefore I bow the knee of mine heart,
beseeching thee of grace.
pechais, O Arglwydd, pechais; ac yr
ydwyf yn cydnabod fy anwireddau.
I have sinned, O Lord, I have sinned, and I
acknowledge mine iniquities:
Am hynny yr ydwyf fi yn deisyf, gan
atolwg i ti, maddau i mi, O Arglwydd, maddau i mi, ac na ddifetha fi ynghyd â'm
hanwireddau, ac na chadw ddrwg i mi, gan ddigio byth wrthyf, ac na ddamnia fi i
geudod y ddaear:
wherefore, I humbly beseech thee, forgive
me, O Lord, forgive me, and destroy me not with mine iniquites. Be not angry
with me for ever, by reserving evil for me; neither condemn me to the lower
parts of the earth.
canys tydi sy Dduw, Duw, meddaf, i'r
edifeiriol:
For thou art the God, even the God of them
that repent;
ac ynof fi y dangosi dy holl ddaioni:
oblegid ti a'm hachubi i, yr hwn ydwyf annheilwng, yn ôl dy fawr drugaredd.
and in me thou wilt shew all thy goodness:
for thou wilt save me, that am unworthy, according to thy great mercy.
Am hynny y'th foliannaf di bob amser,
holl ddyddiau fy einioes: oblegid y mae holl nerthoedd y nefoedd yn dy foliannu
di, ac i ti y mae'r gogoniant yn oes oesoedd. Amen.
Therefore I will praise thee for ever all
the days of my life: for all the powers of the heavens do praise thee, and
thine is the glory for ever and ever. Amen. .
